Today’s game is No Man’s Sky. With the new corvette update i had to play it. Games with fully functional ship building functions are what i live for and i’m happy to have it here. The game lets me get up while flying and walk around and even open the back door. I ended up opening it up and just watching the view.

Here’s a view from another perspective to give you a better idea of what i’m looking at. This game does a really good job of giving you beautiful views.

I had a friend join me on my new ship (we’re forming a crew) and we decided to appoint a first mate. It was a hard vote, but the Ominous Floating lightning cube i put in the corner won. May he serve the ship well (and not shock me).

I ended up giving each of my crewmembers a room to decorate as they please (or have me decorate for them since they can’t edit it themselves). All this space to work with is nice, especially while flying. I can just stop or turn on autopilot now and help my friends who join me.

We flew to a new planet too break it in, and found this gorgeous planet too land on. Little did we know though that the planet had some wild weather effect, such as gravity inverting randomly and lightning storms, along with some wacky ass bubbles that come out of the ground. Nonetheless, we’ve decided to settle here with how pretty and (relatively) calm it is.

I want to try this, but I am not a big fan of sandbox games without any set goals. Is there any kind of single player campaign in it?

There is a story. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly fascinating unless you really love Sci-Fi but there’s a bunch of side quests to do as well

Sortaaaa, it’s pretty weak from what I remember and mostly served to give you a reason to explore more of the sandbox and use the different features of the game.

The campaign is more or less the tutorial. Otherwise, you set your own goals. Like unlocking new building materials, buying a new ship, stuff like that. It’s a sandbox. A very good one at that.

It has a loose story to get to the center of the universe, but I can’t say I’ve ever made it there as I always end up doing other things

I have been pausing NMS for a few months. I think I’ll start playing again next week, a bit curious about this corvette thing.

I saw people asking for ships you can walk around in for a long time now, but I never saw the appeal. With this update, I get it. These ships really feel like our own, and they didn’t hold back the creative potential. I’m already building a flying restaurant.

Damn, I just built a boring ship. Now I kind of want to get wacky with it. Are you able to open up walls or are they all stuck in the 2x1 segments?

In one of my earlier designs use the farming walls to close of the door ways like the frieghter interior wall

My current design has a Y shaped interior, with the base being the cockpit and some of the engines at the tip of the two points. There’s also a -1 floor at the base of the Y shape

After that I added reactors and engines then built cosmetics around it
