frontsmall screen into its own separate phone?Oppo doesn’t let you. Only a small set of apps can run and it’s up to oppo if they allow it.
I meant the actual physical screen part that they are producing, to use that same part for just a tiny phone.

Really? Anything in particular about ColorOS you disliked? I’m on my 3rd Oppo and don’t mind it but also not very picky.
