I have decided that, simply put, I am very, very tired of my computer acting against me and gaining new problems every day as if they were achievements in a video game, so I’m going to take advantage of my Linux experience with the Steam Deck and Raspberry Pi OS to finally start moving away from Windows!
Why is this being downvoted? It seems like a good article.
I’m guessing it’s because peoples feeds suddenly look lile this
Unfortunately, that’s how Lemmy works. That’s not their fault.
Posting once to each relevant community is not spam. It’s not their fault you’re subscribed to every single one of those communities.
Better than sharing memes or random links of someone else’s work.
Well, it may be a good idea to spam less with part 2 and see how that changes the reaction.
Well given the reaction here, I will be surely avoiding this community. Everywhere else, I’ve gotten many positive comments.
Maybe it’s federation, but I can only see one negative response here. Not everything is an attack.
Anyway, posting to just one or two communities is probably enough because I expect there to be a lot of overlap with subscribers. That should avoid the “what is this spam” knee-jerk reaction.

It’s being downvoted because, sadly, people prefer lower effort posts than articles… Thank you though!
People hate low effort spamming.
Maybe OP posted it a few more times than necessary, but I wouldn’t exactly call that article low effort.
Whilst the spamming itself might not be the best thing in the world, the article itself took a lot of effort to write, and this is the only way to spread it around. Honestly, it’s way better than people sharing random links of things they didn’t make and stealing others’ posts or memes, those require no effort at all and are just for attention seeking.
most people are subscribed to the biggest instance of a community, so if you post there 90% of ppl should see it I think (statistic is pulled out of my ass)
