“calls another YouTube channel bitch lasagna” that was years ago right? These days he seems more calm and almost no toxicity whatsoever other than rarely saying shit, fuck, or generic swear word.

Bilibili is already trying to open across Asia without any success. They’re now changing their strategy to be Crunchyroll of Asia (mostly licensing anime from Muse Asia, Ani-One, and other company), but also allow people to host stuff (most people are either ACG content or pirated movie).
He got backlash from his own fans from all edgy and toxic jokes. I remember some of his Indian fans are angry for his PewDiePie vs T-series stuff (T-series: Indian music company).
I think around 2019, he apologized and recognized all the edginess he did, and promised to do better.
For the last five years, all of his content are basically wholesome family stuff or creative activities. Even his recent art journey video are widely shared among young art communities that’s not even his fans.
The people I refering to constantly being angry at Mozilla for adding stuff that actually being useful (in aggresive way) to the point the mod group banned them.
Just like console war, and some Linux people angry that casuals users flocking in, you will never know whether things are real or satire.
Well, some people just recently get the Mica updates, so some actually believe that Firefox copying Apple. Seen those people on Facebook group yesterday.
Considering recent flood of critiques of Mozilla, it’s harder to point whether people actually dislike it or a mere satire.
Firefox Developer edition already get this even before Apple Glass UI announcement.
A lot of KDE dev and community post their stuff (like future planning, technical stuff, experience sharing) on their own blog, then later get listed on KDE Planet (https://planet.kde.org/)
From what I read, it was originally higher (82%), but went down because SteamOS has X11 as its default.
You can read more about KDE X11 plan on here: https://pointieststick.com/2025/06/21/about-plasmas-x11-session/
Quoted from the blog: "Current status: Plasma’s X11 session continues to be maintained.
Specifically, that means:
Is there any application that implement them?
Misskey. It’s not exactly niche, but it has a lot of cool features.
For example:
Misskey is probably the only fediverse software that actually allows admin instance to put ads.
Its flagship instance, misskey.io (which also the second/third (?) biggest instances on fediverse), use freemium scheme for running the server. They have to do this as they have 600K users, with 20K visits per day. Their paid tier upgrades are mostly adding non-essentials stuff, such as drive capacity from 5GB to 30-100GB, profile and avatar decoration (similar to Discord stuff), or more webhook. They runs community ads, from indie games, vtuber promotion, comic release, or local art event. They also have one corporate backer, Skeb.jp, which an art commissioning platform.
Not saying that all instance should do this, but it could be a great learning.
You can consider using flagship instance as a way to fund the development. It’s not like they force you to use flagship instance.
There always third-party instance or self-host as an option.
I’ve seen multiple fediverse project dead before arrival, as the dev working on other job(s) for living. Heck, that’s also the same reason why most of fediverse project are from the West, a lot of people who lives in a country with low paygrade (including me) are not able to dedicate their time for FOSS project.
Which software? Lemmy?
There are always needs for self-hosting for everything.
I can see some education institution set up their 3D model instance, and make it federated with other entities.
The problem is content discovery, right? As I said before, people are working to fix that right now.
Social web is basically similar to early internet, where discovering new things is hard.
Fediverse itself is still “early phase”
There are plenty of proposal of features social web community, handled W3C organization, such as easier way to find content (if the instance want it to be public.)
There’s definitely a value of community being able toset up instance of their own 3D pirinting models.
LibreOffice is good as a standalone software, if you’re not looking for MS Office compability. I use LibreOffice, and my sister suddenly ask me to help edit their MS Office document. It was nightmare. There are a lot of hidden gotchas that rarely reported. It’s absolutely not recommended to constantly changing software if you’re editing your document.
Also, at the moment, Excel has more advance feature than LibreOffice Calc.
Its license is more of forbidding anyone to use it for commercial purpose. People still can fork it for non-commercial purpose.

It’s not ideal but I won’t blame them. Huge chunk of casual consumer FOSS are distrubuted without permission on mobile, slapping ads and other monetization. Notably, almost all Minecraft clone on Android are based Minetest/Luanti.
The original image seems related to Westernsphere social media huh
Facebook in my region (Southeast Asia) is still filled with Gen Z, wirh various niche groups that often have more than 100K members. From anime meme to satirical anti-corruption group. Or fried chicken seller group and book barter for your small city.
I was active moderating on one local music group band on FB with 250K members.
I hope I can change Facebook for fediverse, but there’s still no Facebook group alternative and actual active community on fediverse to make it happen.
That was Logan Paul around 2018. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-42538495
