Wow, that’s a way better reception than I would have expected!

Some solution is better than no solution. I don’t mind having a ‘fossil’ version for a pinch. We got along okay with hardcovered encyclopedias pre-internet and this is not that different except it still being reliant on electricity. (I have different, more valuable books on hand if we ever wind up THAT fucked.)
I’d like to know more about the interesting results you’ve gotten if you don’t mind sharing.
Second everything you said, good god. If I ask HR a question I’m lucky to hear back in a week if at all. They ask us to sign shit, I sign it, they ask me to sign the same shit I signed because nobody checked their inbox for my reply.
Nice. Started using it just a couple weeks ago. I tested a big chunk of them and while Linkwarden isn’t perfect, it does everything better than everything else I tried.
Do we self-hosters need to do anything special? I remember looking at some docs about upgrading versions, but I don’t know how to tell which version I have.
Me either, so I’m searching up what I can and bookmarking it to read later. There’s always more to learn!
Tough times for that. Every interview or recruiter I’ve spoken with lately, I say the words “PTO” and/or “work life balance” and they act like I said a dirty word.
I’ve got my copy of wikipedia saved away and have been downloading/archiving stuff steadily this year. Even tampering aside, I fully expect things to start to get pulled down and go missing.
Had my first need to do a backup last night for my self-hosted VPS. It was a bit sad I had to, but I was glad it was there. Now I’m trying to figure out how to do it for my microPC-turned-mini-server.
Pretty sure there’s been more than one sci-fi novel explaining why this isn’t a great idea.
Everything is moving very, very fast too.
You mean “Warner Bros. Games is working on another tax write off.”
Generally temp-whitelisting the base domain lets you move around the website while blocking all this garbage. Not always, unfortunately. I tend to nope out of websites that don’t work after that unless I’m trying to shop for something, and then I just accept my fate if there’s no alternative shop to turn to.
I do kind of wonder how you go about pushing against a company that has virtually no customer support. Just an AI chatbot or something. No numbers, no emails. It’s not common, but I’ve seen it, and I expect we’ll see more of it increasingly. I suppose at that point you could try to locate their address and mail them a letter?
EDIT: Btw both mastercard and visa DO have simple ways of contacting them. You can email mastercard and Visa has chat, email, and phone call. It was pretty easy to snap off an email to both calling them out. About as hard as signing the petition so I recommend doing that instead.
Honestly very excited to see this! Will share with my friends but they’re not early adopter types, sadly. I’ll sign up though!
…What? Where in the world did you pull that from?
So true. I bet it happens a lot. I got my degree in English with an eye towards becoming an editor. Now I work with CRMs.
The fact it doesn’t go into the hole is upsetting lol
It wasn’t what introduced me to linux entirely, but it is absolutely what made me realize that Linux COULD be user friendly, so I definitely give credit to Valve for that. I am now gearing up to make the switch in the near future on my desktop.
I use Smart Launcher! I picked it up a few years ago, after Nova was sold. Nowadays I’d probably focus on a FOSS launcher, but at the time I didn’t care about such things. That said, the app sorting into categories within the app drawer is super nice, and I love it a lot. Everything else about the app is pretty fine, though I am disappointed at how it can lag when I’m trying to switch between apps or the home screen. I’m pretty cozy with it so I’m reluctant to change but I probably will on my next phone.
