Whiskers started as a Yet Another Lemmy Instance around the time when Reddit became full-blown hostile to its users (always has been).

The core principle is to own your data, reduce dependency on big, centralized instances, and keep a manageable community without too much noise. This means to scale and adapt Whiskers to the community’s needs as frugally as possible, and to avoid wasting resources. Therefore, the intention is to keep Whiskers small.
