I mean anything that is not hosted in your house. For example, dynamic dns, some type of ddos protection, off-site backups, external oauth provider, etc.

I have a low cost dedicated server at OVH in Montreal and a storage VPS at ServaRica.
The OVH server has a bunch of VMs on it running things like mailcow, AnonAddy, UptimeKuma, healthchecks.io, ntfy, mandos(for unlocking LUKS encrypted systems during boot. Uses WireGuard inside intramfs so this is all closed off), and nginx proxy for vaultwarden and nextcloud which are hosted at home.
The storage VPS acts as a sync target for Proxmox PBS. PBS also syncs to a little NAS at family members house.
For DNS I use desec.io.
MXroute for outbound SMTP so I don’t have to worry about my emails bouncing or going to spam.
