Act 3 has the least polish, but I honestly like it more than acts 1 and 2. Act 1 is mostly setup and a one-sided moral choice. Act 2 is mostly empty and dull thanks to that shadow-curse. Act 3 is mostly payoffs, and there’s so much stuff going on everywhere you look.
Lol, nah. I always felt act 2 was weakest. 3 might not be perfect, but I love walking through the city, and exploring all the side stories and quests.
That’s interesting. I kind of enjoyed II the most in my playthroughs, on reflection. The story is finally in full swing, there’s a lot of interesting enemies and set piece battles, and you get to start feeling powerful without being at a level where meaningful challenges are themselves overpowered. The high level battles often felt rather one-sided, one way or another.
For me, the issue is that it’s too dense. Act I and II are much more spread out. By comparison, Act III is overwhelming and there’s so many people to talk to.
I wish it was made a bit more linear, because the content itself isn’t bad, just the delivery IMO.
Entirely fair, act III does sprawl. I think they were going for a sort of “now you know enough to make your own choices and be agentic rather than reactive” type of shift, but it is a lot.
