      The idea is that it’ll make people more cautious drivers around you. It doesn’t work because people generally transform into sociopaths the moment they enter a vehicle.

      they’re warning signs for other people that the driver of the signed vehicle is likely not paying attention to driving

      or at least that’s how it appears from my experience, given that there’s a fucking good chance that a car with a sticker like that does something really stupid like change lanes without signaling or giving a shit that I’m right beside them

        I’ve heard (as in, hearsay, so not reputable at all) that it may also be intended for emergency workers in case of a crash, but I still think that’s less likely than your explanation. If it were for emergency workers, you wouldn’t likely have it only on the rear window/bumper.

          to be serious, I do belief that it’s a 50/50 mix of “look at me with my cute I have a kid sticker” and “please be extra careful around me I have a baby”

          in the first case, whatever

          in the second case, fuck you, you’re not special, you’re the one endangering me (statistically in my experience, anyways)

          I think the emergency response factor is present but small
