    Our parents felt like independent adults trading their time and energy for a life worth living, the felt that way because they could.

    It’s hard to grow up with no ability to have agency in our lives like our parents had.

    Most millennials and younger are literally living paycheck to paycheck and unable to escape that pit. There is basically no financial or social independence possible, so it’s hard to feel like an actualized, independent, autonomous adult.
