minus-squarePapamousse@beehaw.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·5 days agook so the Pixel 9 with Android (not Graphene) they can crack it and have full access even after a fresh reboot (BFU is Before First Unlock). So useless to buy the latest phone…
minus-squarehornedfiend@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·5 days agobut it also means you can get the latest phone and put graphene on it.
minus-squarePapamousse@beehaw.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·5 days agoyes but google is not crippling this lastly? not releasing android sources or something? And does thing like “google Wallet” works in GrapheneOS?
minus-squarefrongt@lemmy.zipOPlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·5 days agoGoogle wallet works except for actual payment cards. It still works for stuff like barcode tags and event tickets, it just shows you a “not secure” popup when you open it.
minus-squaredomdanial@reddthat.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·5 days agoI think it means Graphene just doesn’t update to the newest android version, they can still update grapheneos, but on the last android version. A number of banking and wallet apps do not work on rooted/alternative OS, but I think the solution to Google wallet is use a different wallet app.
