The reddit corp folk have found themselves in a dilemma of their own making. I hope reddit does not “die”, and I’m not worried about that; but I think this strike or whatever you call it is a huge deal, a wake up call, for all of us. There’s no going back.

What’s great about reddit is redditors, the mods, the culture built. And even the corp, up til recently, for resourcing it to happen. But it’s time to move on – to a new home, maybe here. lemmy looks very nice. I’m hedging my bets, got a login at kbin.social…

We need reddit to exist so that people can migrate from it. I hope there’s the energy to change and adapt. I was shocked by the number of gone-silent subs! That’s a good sign.

I’m posting in Arduino. I haven’t been on reddit since sunday. I’m gonna go back, and agitate to move.

I was on facebook, ditched it 100%, never going back, etc, but I was dismayed that all of my friends there stayed, resistant to change. I hope that isn’t our fate with this, but reddit folk seem more adaptable. I hope anyway.
