I have started using Usenet for videos, and for that it is great. But I really having difficulty finding eBooks/Audiobooks. MAM (torrent) is really the only thing my Readarr is making use of, and I’d like a wider selection.
Do you have suggestions for finding eBooks/Audiobooks on Usenet?
Thanks
Why Usenet? Try https://annas-archive.org/ for ebooks.
http://libgen.rs/ is also very good.
My suggestion is don’t. Usenet is great for movies and TV but sucks for audio. MAM, mobilism are best for books.
AFAIK the only usenet indexer specialized in audiobook content is https://abook.link
There are no usenet indexers specialized in ebook/book content. You’d have to try your luck with general usenet indexers, or try searching for those manually outside of Readarr automation, or try non-usenet sources.
Prowlarr, Readarr, SABnzbd and Calibre work amazingly together. MAM and altHub accounts will cover you for 90% of books.
Libgen and similar sites are great but I like having everything in one place (Readarr) and being able to monitor authors and, with one click, have the book in my library.
Once it’s all set up it works very similar to Sonarr or Radarr (if you’re familiar)… the only thing to remember is that Readarr will not auto grab previous releases if the author is monitored; only new (future) releases.
If you want old stuff, you need to go into each author individually and select the books you want. This is actually the best way, seeing how many books have multiple releases and get compiled into anthologies and whatnot.
