      Headphone jack, please.

Why don’t you just buy a phone with one? Sony’s still have them.

Make it a DAC that can actually drive headphones properly. Looking at ya Sony.

Incoming rant: It boggles the mind that people are championing the dumping of more batteries and bluetooth shit into the nether WRT to headphones. One could argue the same about cables but they can actually be recycled or transitioned to materials that can. I just cant understand the correlation between premium phones and less options (cognitive dissonance?). Have to give it to the phone companies don’t ya ;)

I hope not, for my personal sake. I don’t want to go back to wired music, with cables in the way of everything I’m doing. Such a hassle. I know I can just not use things with wires, but I also like my phones smaller, so…

Can we instead/alongside just actually develop software that doesn’t just take up whateber is currentlt available RAM and power???

Now if, IF, apps spent those resources on why I downloaded the app, then I’d have much less of an issue. Buuuut so much dogshit runs in the background for every fucking app, all sorts processess for gathering irrelevant telemetry, as well as aggressively live microupdates of information that I do not require a near-live accuracy of.

If software assumed it was being designed and ran with the lunar program approach (only what the desired need requires in a fair amount of time), we would get so much life out of everything…

Fuck capitalism. Also, what a hard failure and shortsighted approach it is, when I would pay significantly more for apps and hardware itself if everthing from the OS to front facing UI was conservative in its resource drain, or at least had a true custom setting that actually did that. I mean I would at least pay more than they currently make by serving me ads based on all the bullshit.

Sure. Install something like LineageOS and none of those resource-hungry apps.

Won’t happen because everything needs to doing all sorts of things for various reasons.

      Fuck capitalism

      Because, correct

at least had a true custom setting that actually did that.

Android actually has many settings that do just that. Battery saver in a way is also that setting.

I mean I would at least pay more than they currently make by serving me ads based on all the bullshit.

It never fails to amaze me how purposefully dense people can be. There are literal thousands of more users who will use the app for free and ignore the minor inconvenience of ads by simply ignoring it or using an adblock. Believe it or not, the universe doesn’t revolve around your personal needs. That 1 cent from a user becomes thousand with thousand users and grows thousand more if it’s actually good. But you know all the ins and out of app dev since you mention lunar program approach. 🤦‍♂️

Or better yet, how about you develop software that doesn’t just take up whateber is currentlt available RAM and power???

I mean I would at least pay a one time fee of $3.50 and expect lifetime of updates. It’s more than some currently make by serving me ads based on all the bullshit.

I agree that there are tons of shitty apps but this holier than thou attitude without any experience of their own as app developers is fucking insane. Be the change you want to see, instead of being angry at other people, all the time.

So, 7Ah. The other option is like saying ‘I walked 10 million millimetres today!’
