I work at a non-profit which funds development on some OSS tools. In the past, we have used BountySource to fund fixes for specific bugs/github issues, but it appears that devs are having issues with BountySource not paying them. Bad news.
Are there any viable alternatives where people can bounty specific issues either with USD or crypto? I know Gitcoin used to exist but now they just do whole hackathons instead of specific issues.
Edit: I made a lemmy community for now !bugbounties@lemmy.ml. If you are a dev looking to contribute to OSS projects and get paid or a project that needs a little extra dev help, hop on in :)
You didn’t read the websites at all it seems.
Huntr definitely let’s you post and claim bounties.
Even with the correct link (thank you @cmeerw@programming.dev ), huntr is only for finding security vulnerabilities, not for general bounties on bugfixes and other code contributions.
It would have helped if you had actually posted a link to the correct web site.
Do you mean huntr.dev then? hunter.dev redirects to https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhuntermitchell
Edit: not sure, huntr.dev says “We accept vulnerability disclosures in most public repositories on GitHub.”
Clearly phone auto correct likes spelling words the correct way…not my fault the dumb website has a non word in the URL.
No, but it is your fault for not proofreading… Or just using copy paste of the actual home page
