No tabs in the app drawer… just all your apps on one page and have to scroll all the way down to find wikipedia, for example
Drawer tabs is really what i want
Cant find any modern launcher with tabs
None of these are a good replacement for nova.
I’ve been using android since 2007. Nova allowed me to stick with the old school UI paradigm of dock and app drawer… nova was so good, that i set up my homescreen in 2013 and basically never touched the settings again until i migrated a new phone…
All these new launchers break my 20 yr old workflow… i dont like the “everything is a search bar” thing
if you choose to back up to your own storage, does it still cost $1.99?
i’ve been using android since 2007… and the home screen paradigm for me has always been a customizable dock at the bottom with an app drawer button in the middle, and multiple home screens with whatever widgets you want…
i’ve tried almost all the suggestions for a nova replacement and almost all of them break my workflow i’ve used for almost 20 years. it’s very frustrating. it seems like the latest launchers fall into two camps…
“minimalist”, no widgets, have to search everything with keyboard
“modern”, takes a lot of cues from iOS on the home screen
that’s the problem with finding a “nova replacement”… almost everyone’s “nova” is completely different from each other… does anyone have a suggestion for a launcher that carries on the old school android layout, but also FOSS? (GO launcher still maintains the old-school paradigm, but not FOSS)
Debain gamer here as well!
tin foil hat people.
This particular community is full of totally unhinged people who dont know the difference between privacy and anonymity. 90% of people here act like they’re living in north korea and will be disappeared if their phone number leaks
I’ve never had to manually delete kernels.
Apt autoremove automatically takes care of older kernels
Maybe try reinstalling your default stable kernel linux-image-amd64 (or whatever architecture)
Typically, no need to specify specific kernel versions like 6.12
Lazy reporting…
Then why post here and get clicks for their shitty youtube channel?
I dont know if you’re all 6’10" giants… But modern phones (including ALL fairphones) DO NOT FIT in my pants pockets…
Make Small Phones Great Again!!!
I’ve done 3 dist-upgrades… Just read the release notes and if not, at least the warnings that show up during the apt upgrade process… Dont just hit “yes” or “quit” on all the text
i kind of respect the hunter that gives the quarry a sporting chance to fight back. and this time, the hunter lost
on the other hand, sitting in a tree shooting deer with a sniper rifle doesn’t seem like a fair fight
Install and configure lm_sensors. Then cpu temp will show up in $sensors or other TUI programs
My mom is old. Her whole workflow is just open the browser and go to gmail, and forward me a bunch of spams…
Whether its on iOS or debian, you can’t tell the difference unless you’re looking hard
At least your mom was cool enough to try. I had to trick my mom into using linux by putting a macOS themed, KDE, debian on an old macbook that was identical to her dead macbook
There’s a difference between having high marginal taxes on the rich, and actually collecting them
A schooner IS a sailboat, stupidhead!
One of my machines i’ve been just upgrading in place since debian 8. No need for new installation
Debian isn’t barbaric at all.
I have a great seeding record, but cant find any private trackers to join…
Where do i start?
i only re-started my torrenting activities in the last few years since the streaming landscape has become a hellscape
