I picked one of these up around 2015 and used it as my main phone for ~2 years. It’s a cool phone and I had a great time messing around with it.
Unfortunately the hardware is just into up to modern requirements - old modem means bad signal, old WiFi standard, really low RAM, very slow processor. The browser was barely usable even with an adblocker.
Sadly the Neo900 never got off the ground.

Two people close to me have gone from “normal” to suicidal and back again in the last 6 years, for different reasons and at different times. Thankfully they are both stable and enjoying their lives now.
If you’ve not witnessed anything like that, count yourself lucky. I remember talking to people about suicide when I was younger and couldn’t understand how anyone could get to that place until I saw someone I know really well go through a complete mental breakdown.

There are lots of people in this thread who aren’t familiar enough with how the UK system works (understandably, because it’s not a UK community). A lot of those people have jumped to the wrong conclusion.
It makes me wonder how often I get the wrong end of the stick when it comes to US/international politics etc.
Yeah it’s going to be a legal mess for a while and I do sympathise with people who are affected. Something for parliament(s) to sort out.
The courts in the UK are not politicised like in the US.

They interpret the law as it’s written (I.e. about sex, not gender), so to change this you would need a new law. It’s not supposed to be a moral judgement.

Aliexpress. I bought from a UK website first time and it was double the price but still shipped from China, making it a bit pointless. This is the aliexpress link I used, I have no connection to the seller and only bought from them once, but it arrived in good condition and I’ve tested it works as expected. Yeah it’s great, my daughter has been enjoying all the old games as well so i bought her one too for her birthday. It’s much easier as a parent to give her the R36s and the retro games because they are all self contained offline things unlike a lot of modern games.
Some things I’d say to consider before buying:
I’ve been playing Crash Bandicoot on an R36s recently, it’ such a nostalgic game. Amazing that you can play it on a ~£35 handheld! You can’t beat the gameplay in some of the old classics.
I agree although presumably when you add more devices and types of signal you can build a much richer picture without 3 access points.
For example, in my living room I have a cordless landline, Bluetooth soundbar speaker, WiFi access point, a fixed media box that uses WiFi. Presumably you could build a picture from the interference patterns of these different types of device, which are all on similar frequencies (2.4GHz ish).
