Yeah. And honestly, way land already works fine (even screen sharing). Waydroid is a bit of a killer app too (but needs more refinement,).

Gimp runs in windows. The security thing isn’t really true (X11 isn’t secure and it can’t be fixed apparently)
In fact, as others have said, really bad comparison…
I tried it. Gave up and moved to regular fedora at the end. I didn’t see any real benefits personally
I did like many of the ideas, like gamescope is built in. But I think I had minor issues
I disagree… The problem actually is that Wayland is optional, and still is.
So everyone was dragging their heels (and some still are). If all the major distro’s set a cut off date, then things would speed up. The biggest reason for delay was Nvidia imho, so now that they’re sorted, it seems things are falling into place faster.
X11 still hasn’t solved any of their real issues, and its still a security nightmare (which can’t be fixed). Furthermore, most of the developers have moved off it.
What exactly do you like about X11?
I actually disagree. I feel it’s best to use for languages you’re good with, because it tends to introduce very subtle bugs which can be very difficult to debug, and code which looks accurate about isn’t. If you’re not totally familiar with the language, it can be even harder
My workmate literally used copilot to fix a mistake in our websocket implementation today.
It made one line of change… turned it it made the problem worse
Yeah. I actually wanted to buy one too. It’s a pity they don’t make steam machines either anymore
I hope you need a 500mb driver to use it too with an installer that pops up every reboot, even if you press cancel.
Otherwise, it’s clear that it fails at being a mouse
And nobody noticed…
Maybe calling a hero cave diver a pedo wasn’t a great idea, Elon
I didn’t even realise until the other day you need an account to use it now at all it seems.
So no surprise. In the past, I recall you could browse without a login… so of course nobody is going to put ads on it
Also, why would you want those customers?
I don’t think so. Maybe I’m missing something?
I just didn’t 20 hours so far on it
What I don’t like is that you need to finish the day for it to save
Also the wording about what happens to crops at the end of season should change
But otherwise, it’s something to do, but it is getting a bit click and pointy really. I wish you should pair up with characters more and walk around with then
I seriously didn’t realize this was meant to be a secret?
Trump still can’t say “China” without saying it in a really weird tone because he’s used to saying “China flu” with emphasis on China.
You can’t help but think that a big component of the depression/doom feeling a lot of the experienced at the time was indirectly related to things Trump did
Actually, I did have this exact issue last time I used bazzite, and ended up switching to fedora.
Bluetooth would just stop working. Which was an issue because I was using a dual shock as a mouse and for gaming
You can’t use a lot of apps without it
So sure you can, but it isn’t an awesome experience
I looked something up today.
Do plumbers fit shower screens? Plumbers do not usually fit frameless shower screens. Most of the time, they break the glass panels and hurt themselves. Others do not try going through the installation hassle.
The whole thing is embarrassing. The only way it could be worse could be if they harvested 4chan
Looking forward to an upgraded crossover office along with it
Sigh…
I RUN a hiking group here in Australia. And the sole purpose of this question is to promote toxic men and women to start toxic discussions. I’ve never seen it posted outside of Reddit/lemmy in hiking communities, and the only real life discussion I had about it, was by a female hiker who messaged me about it once, and called it stupid… I agreed…
The vast majority of people who join my group (even overnight solo with me), are women (and no, I’m not a bear). In fact, I’m probably as average as they get (straight, white, not particularly tall or short, no tatts, etc)…
Whenever the question of safety comes up in hiking groups, and anyone says "women need to bring a weapon, and keep it under your pillow, trying to make them feel insecure, the entire female and male community tends to completely blast them for doing so. Such threads are always full of primarily women re-affirming others that they are safe and push them to give things a go. Based on that, I don’t think many women from the aussie female hiking community would agree…
So, things might be different in America, but here in Australia, it’s not true. And I regularly speak to a few women who run their own groups, and whilst I can’t speak on behalf of any of them, I suspect at least some of them would hate this discussion, as they are interested in encouraging women to hike, be active and be their best self. This question is designed as a weird hypothetical instead.
I’d even argue, the question likely wasn’t posted by someone who actually hikes much either. More likely it was posted by someone who wants to argue with others, or having a bad week (possibly some weird 4Chan troll even).
The whole point of these is basically to cause people to fight, just like the original question
I think I tried emudeck and it wouldn’t install. But that wasn’t their issue (turned out to be a regression upstream).
I think I had stuttering sound in audio too. But that’s via HDMI.
Spdif no issue
I also used another gaming distro though so might be confusing them
They should absolutely keep developing it. It will only get better, and I’m a unique case because I’ve been using Linux probably since 1998 or so.
But I feel they make things a bit more custom, and it will only get better. It has a lot of potential, and is probably the best option already for many people
