Yeah I did the same as a European… and this thought dawned on me when I saw your post… glad to see this helps us all sort of relativate things… cause a trade war about cars is coming… as both the US and the EU will fight hard to protect their own car manufacturers.
Maybe a silver lining is that this would free up these cars to be sold in other countries that have cities drowning in smog… if cheaper EVs are available there it might dramatically improve the health of these cities and all their inhabitants…

The original comment you responded to could have been more helpful to ask for more attention for Domestic Violence in general. But something tells me it would have been met with similar responses.
Alienating, and ignoring the issues men have that possibly even are a root cause for their instability that leads to DV is also helping women… maybe even more. This is like how poverty creates crime… not ethnicity. It is much more of a class issue than a gender causes violence/victimization issue…
How is the rise in overall violence? Does the violence against women deviate from the overall trend.
Also escaping abusive relations for women has a financial hurdle is so incredibly depressing to read, as this would in my opinion be the easiest for a government to solve…
I believe this is also a reason why the right is so focussed on breaking down social security and hammering the “normal family”… to reduce options women have even more.
Tell that to the people who had family butchered in Bucha, or the soldiers that came from Russian imprisonment looking like WW2 concentration camp survivors with horror stories about their abuse at the hands of Russians.
War is horrible, but supporting a country filled with people that do not want to be Russians is not a bad deed.
Even the people in the occupied territories… all that we need to negotiate… how did that work out for the world? Not standing up to tyrants just means they will do more. So as long as Ukranians say they want to fight Russia to defend their autonomy we have a moral and ethical obligation to give them what they need to win.

I watched a lot of early Rogan… And even though he was an idiot, there were so many wonderful conversations with interesting people.
Then came the likes of Jocko Willink, and slowly you saw more right wing people creep into his orbit. The early Peterson was even fun to listen to and said some good stuff… but the conversation became more political, more right wing and in my opinion less interesting… Just regurgitation of right wing talking points. Once Rogan was in talks with Spotify… there was nothing interesting left. Rogan probably got info from Spotify on demographics, targeting, subjects that do best and decided a 100 million was enough to sell gis soul. Then by constantly being in the same room with the ghouls and smelling their farts… they managed to convince him the farts smelled nice.
All the people taking this lightly, wildly underestimate the effect the richest man in the world has on public discourse. This guy is taking heads of state to task, threatening democracy.
