I really wish this had been one for me, but I’ve never been able to make it more than halfway through despite a few good faith attempts. I am really glad you had a great time with it, though!

Agreed. I thought it was a competently made game, even if not groundbreaking or best in class for shooting. I think people’s expectations are often their biggest obstacle to enjoyment.
Leaked pictures / more confirmation. It’s “real” now, or at least a more solid rumor than before.

I came here to recommend this, too. This game lets you really hit a nice vibe with the movement. Has co-op, too!
Counter Strike was way better when this was the vibe. I am so tired of competitive this and gun case that. I’ve never been interested in 5v5 scrimming in any serious way, but that’s all CS2 wants me to do.
I want gun game, I want wc3, I want ZM. I want quirky custom maps (glass!) and quake sounds and !bet ct all. I want to fuck around with new friends on a server for an evening, not to sweat my balls off throwing practiced smokes on dust2.
Big agree. Figuring out over building with the interface was so frustrating! Seeing city connectivity too.
Yeah, I am enjoying the age mechanic as a new approach to the formula. It’s not without its flaws, but in previous Civs after a certain point I just stopped playing/didn’t finish games when the outcome was clear. I’m doing that less now.
You’re getting down voted on your top level comment, but I wanted to take a second to say I appreciate your back and forth here. I’m more inclined to call this incompetence, but your point that other motives and agendas could be at play is well taken.
Ah, I see. I don’t think I agree, but I get the statement being made now.
How does this make them look even mildly competent? They disclosed war plans to an unknown third party by using unsanctioned communication tools. They got lucky it was a reporter who thought he was being baited rather than a more malicious and intentioned actor.
Callous reaction to what is a clear overstep on behalf of US CBP. Denying entry would have been a more efficient move than detainment, unless the cruelty is the point.
My mother is a very sweet, kind-hearted woman who taught me to lead with empathy, to always try to find common humanity with people I think are wrong. She was so upset by Trump and Vance over this that she said she hopes these “evil mother fuckers burn in hell.”
Her words and my words are meager, but please know you’re not alone. I don’t know what’s next, but I hope we can find the path together.
You’re probably being down voted because of the presumption that we’re not doing things. Protests, calling representatives, boycotts, mutual aid networks, etc. Some of us work directly in politics or directly in government, and do what we can in those spaces, too.
It’s kind of irritating to get a finger-wagging admonition when you’re exploring all options short of outright assassination. And if the suggestion is to just start shooting, well, I think it’s asking more than you think for someone to choose to become a killer.
Yep. For what it’s worth. I played about six hours today and had an absolute blast. Definitely some UI weaknesses, but I’ve been focusing more on the big changes to the gameplay loop, and I like them so far.
But I’m just some random online.
I’ll also say fuck Asurion. They seemingly bricked my phone during a routine repair. Obviously they came up with a flimsy excuse for why it wasn’t their fault, but regardless I ended up walking out with a paperweight instead of a screen damaged but otherwise fully functional device. Would’ve been better off not seeking their service.
IDK, I don’t feel like I had to say that much to get in with my alt. I just wrote about how I liked having some more heavily moderated spaces to discuss sensitive topics. I even mentioned that I planned to maintain an alt to access less moderated spaces, just that I also intended to respect the culture and the vibe of Beehaw when interacting there.
Admins and moderators decide on behavioral standards for their instances, just as it has been for every discussion forum that has ever existed. I don’t care to personally adjudicate your experience with Beehaw - I am simply sharing my own.
Eh, I have accounts on both instances. I’ve appreciated the active moderation on some Beehaw communities - I’d rather discuss LGBTQ issues on Beehaw than other instances, for example. But I also like to see more content elsewhere, so I’ve got my Lemmy.world account too. It’s pretty easy to account hop when using an app. It’s reminds me of being a member of multiple hobbyist forums, in a way.
I loved this one, too. Super weird story, but I was hooked. I didn’t even object to what I sort of remember as a deus ex machina kind of ending. Seemed fittingly weird for the vibe.
