JK. i’ve seen other instances defederating from that place before. didn’t really think much of it because…well, i don’t really don’t go there. i also assumed they’d be getting stricter (because how tf is that allowed where their server is?). guess i was wrong.
i think it’s a good call to defederate. also, i just checked the instance link at the bottom of the page and that instance is still there? i thought it would reflect that it was defederated?

Not all instance owners may want all those features implemented. Not the same but kind of like how Beehaw doesn’t allow downvotes while other lemmy instances do.

I did go back for r/place, but I haven’t touched reddit since. For me, the goal was/is to find a decent alternative so I won’t have to put up with reddit. I found it so that’s a win for me. Although I’m not gonna lie and say i may still visit for some info that I won’t be able to find someplace else (reddit has acquired tons of useful information over the years, unfortunately).
