Narrative driven, story rich games don’t sell?

How many video game franchises are making the leap to tv/movies these days? Hint, it’s the ones with narrative driven, story rich games.

Go ahead and make pay to win mobile games, I don’t play them and they rake in millions so it makes perfect business sense.

But the idea that gamers don’t pay for good narrative driven, story rich games is laughable.

I think the biggest problem with a lot of game franchises have is they only sell the game. So much money is being left on the table with the best efforts being a screengrab lazily printed on a cheap shirt that sells maybe one or two.

If I could get some official, quality, Umbrella/Shinra/Arasaka/Faro corporation mugs, phone covers, meme tier shirts etc I’d be all over it.

Obviously he’s extremely succeptable to bribery/flattery etc so he could easily “art of the deal” Taiwan off to China.

Personally I feel like he’s definitely having a vindictive king renaissance so I’m expecting a lot of inflexible decisions made entirely on impulse - because that’s exactly what the people want.

Don’t know if I see him going to war with China as getting bribed is better than fighting and potentially losing. Plus, fighting implies you don’t have enough power/influence to win without fighting and Trump is all about projecting power.

If he does want war, I wouldn’t be surprised to see an American foreign legion formed out of the 20 million immigrants he wants to deport

Still a tough line to toe.

South Korea can undoubtedly roll North Korea. But North Korea + China + Ruzzia is much harder to contend with.

NK is benefitting from actively trading with first world economies in a meaningful way and will likely be heavily updating their military and spycraft capabilities.

This will blow back way harder on Israel than America.

Ignoring all politics, logistically this war is a rounding error in the Pentagon’s budget. America can and often does absolutely anything it wants to anyone at any point in time - and the only thing stopping it is how it feels about a subject at any given moment.

Israel is tiny and surrounded by enemies who they are pissing off.

Every 5 days there’s a software update, for something that just changes one or two things slightly - but rarely if ever is it an improvement.

Oh, you want to do this simple thing you were able to easily do 3 days ago?

Now you have to change 4 nondescript settings, use 3 separate hotkey commands, watch a YouTube video, and troubleshoot for hours to get a once basic function to preform correctly.

I’d bet that the AI system will be used exclusively to identify + paywall things you’ll want/need to use your phone.

seems like you want volume control, based on your history you want 1% volume. Subscribe to" basic functions" package to unlock a volume option. Upgrade to “basic functions premium” for up to 5 volume adjustments a week!

This is very true, especially around mid game.

There are significantly more quests than you need to advance levels and eventually you get level 30+ having done all the side quests and there will be several unfinished missions for recommend level 7-20 that become worthless unless the story/character behind it interests you.

Definitely grind early missions as they are basically tutorials and also give you lore on all the factions, don’t worry too much about gold as you will rarely be able to buy weapons better than what you find.

By mid game you’ll have tons of access to loot for selling and will probably be more interested in spending money on refining/upgrading items than buying mediocre armor and weapons.

The bombs and oils are great if you keep them upgraded

Never sell ingredients you don’t have a billion of, you can buy a potion to redistribute your levels and switching from magic/physical build to late game Alchemist is really strong and fun and changes up play style.

Fair enough, I assumed you gamed on both and stopped for PS5 because they made PSN mandatory and I somehow was unaware.

Can’t justify a gaming PC when PS4 pro was pretty cheap and my gaming hours are not what they used to be

I can justify a not so new console every 5 or so years as they hit my value for money sweet spot, and reduced gaming hours due to life

But the upfront cost for a decent rig to replace consoles entirely is not what I want to use my money for (for now!)

Then use immigrants “taking jobs” (what the farm owners actually want, because slaves are very profitable and locals would never do that work at that wage) to rile up the population to vote for Conservative governments, who often don’t change the influx of immigrants but who does love to lower taxes and turn a blind eye to labour abuses.

Don’t worry too much about the debt, Canada has loads of debt and we are letting our politicians dismantle healthcare and education while homes are unaffordable and there are massive homeless encampments in pretty much every city/town. But voters are apathetic or don’t understand anything about our political system so it only gets worse

I think America has the largest debt in the world and they don’t even have public healthcare (and also loads of homeless)

So having some debt but actually getting public services is really putting you ahead of most of the world!

Not saying you shouldn’t worry about expenses/value, but countries carrying debt is normal

Obviously more US aid is crucial, and it’s recent absence is clearly having negative consequences in Ukraine.

If there is a silver lining, it’s that all of Europe is finally getting it’s military shit sorted out.

Russia is settling into it’s war economy and the rest of Europe has decades of dust to shake off it’s military capabilities.

Obviously NATO and individual European counties aren’t fully engaged in war like Ukraine is, but the resources consumed by war is proving just how under prepared Europe is for a long campaign.

If it wasn’t religion, it’d be racism, sexisim, geography based hate, abilisim, left handedness, phrenology, etc etc etc. Religion is just another lubricant to placate docile individuals, and justify the actions of hate focused individuals

I’m certain we could all live together in peace, but we’re so tribalistic that the second anyone says their group is better than X because Y the majority of the population seems to lap it up at nearly any expense.
