I think the article only mentions the prices in the Google store, which are way more expensive than other shops. The Pixel 8 128GB is currently available at 550€.
So the Pixel 8a at 570€ would be the more expensive model.

The motivation from the previous nationalist PiS government in Poland was mainly anything they could to do against Russia or against Germany.
So by supporting Ukraine with military equipment, they were acting against Russia. But at the same time slowed down German support for Ukraine, by blocking maintenance and factories for Ukrainian equipment in Poland. Leading to long transports across to other countries e.g. Latvia for maintenance.
Now, with the grain, this has no Russian involvement and their own farmers are unhappy. So there is no way to go against Russia or against Germany. Also there is a new government in Poland, so I guess we have to see how that develops now.
If you believe the information on CNN is wrong, you could just use a web search for a different source to check and compare for yourself. Or just go to unrwa.org and their press releases:
26 January 2024 AMMAN,
“The Israeli Authorities have provided UNRWA with information about the alleged involvement of several UNRWA employees in the horrific attacks on Israel on 7 October.
“To protect the Agency’s ability to deliver humanitarian assistance, I have taken the decision to immediately terminate the contracts of these staff members and launch an investigation in order to establish the truth without delay. Any UNRWA employee who was involved in acts of terror will be held accountable, including through criminal prosecution.
“UNRWA reiterates its condemnation in the strongest possible terms of the abhorrent attacks of 7 October and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli hostages and their safe return to their families.
“These shocking allegations come as more than 2 million people in Gaza depend on lifesaving assistance that the Agency has been providing since the war began. Anyone who betrays the fundamental values of the United Nations also betrays those whom we serve in Gaza, across the region and elsewhere around the world”.

It’s just a setting like so many other things. You can put in individual IPs you trust or IP ranges.
It seems Plex has figured out lots of Plex ‘server admins’ are just normal Windows users and click OK on everything w/o reading any change logs or checking any settings. So it’s easier and saver to enable a lot of things right away. Admins can just go into settings and adjust it.
Misleading title.
Article:
“We hear threats from the Kremlin almost every day … so we have to take into account that Vladimir Putin might even attack a NATO country one day,” Pistorius said in an interview with the Berlin-based Der Tagesspiegel newspaper.
While a Russian attack is not likely “for now,” the minister added: “Our experts expect a period of five to eight years in which this could be possible.”
There is no warning of an attack. There is an analysis that it’s not likely for now. And earliest where something like this could become possible, would be that mentioned time frame. That is not what the word warning means. That is a statement about a vague estimate of an unlikely event - of course way less catchy title.
What is the thought process behind these attacks?
We all know from Operation Atalanta, the anti-piracy naval operation around Somalia by EU and UN, that interrupting trade routes is a speed run to get a strong military response. Around Yemen, even US naval forces got involved. But why would the Houthi rebels want that? Is there any gain for them from getting such an escalation? From my armchair point of view, this doesn’t look smart.
Also the article is dated Dec 1st, quoting a Greek source article dated Nov 28th. Nearly 2 weeks old reporting.
We had this submission yesterday already and the title is very misleading. No one has to support Israel, but one state in Germany demands to recognize Israel’s right to exist.
There is no context and nothing specific, as the headline makes it seem. He is just putting out phrases in an interview:
“Wars develop in phases,” Stoltenberg said […]
“We have to support Ukraine in both good and bad times,” he said.
"We should also be prepared for bad news,” Stoltenberg added […]
[…] Stoltenberg said. “The more we support the Ukraine, the faster the war will end."
The season certainly is, unless you’re riding on a snowmobile in the picture.
But there will be a few better days coming. Last year, we also had a cold start in early December at -8°C but 31st and Jan 1st it was super warm with 17°C, so I was riding as much as I could. Streets are also empty on Jan 1st.
The long term weather models predict a mild winter 23/24 at +2°C for central Europe compared to average temps. So I keep my eye on the forecast for a good day.
Just keep calm and remember what you have learned. I mean theory part is just learning, the riding part is just riding and you already succeeded with all the exercises before when doing the test. You already did everything you need to do and probably more than once. Nothing new for you happening.
Do you already have a bike? Or looking for one after the license? Or waiting for spring?
As the prices are mentioned in US-Dollar, this offer is likely only available in the USA. E.g. I’m currently getting a Black Friday offer for the full price of 1.099€ for the Pixel 8 Pro but a 100€ store voucher is included.
The natural gas through the pipelines is not owned by the transit or endpoint country. Same with Nord Stream, Germany is used as distribution hub in central Europe. E.g. after Poland closed their pipeline to Russia, their natural gas supply from Russia was simply transferred via Nord Stream and Germany, from the other side across the border into Poland.
And even with natural gas that stays in German storages, it’s not owned by Germany. It’s owned by private companies that sell it during winter to the highest bidder. German gas storage can supply other countries that have high demand and smaller storage capacities in a cold winter.
So regarding the resource replacement, it depends on the country that uses the natural gas at the end.
Looking at natural gas in Germany, the usage for electricity generation is relatively low (~7-12% over the last 5 years). It’s more often used by the industry and for it’s chemical properties, as well as heating in homes. You cannot just replace that with coal or nuclear ovens. But overall there is a plan to increase the capacity for electricity generation over the next few years as backup for the coal phaseout during low renewable generation. The new gas plants are intended for natural gas and later hydrogen.
For everyone only reading headlines: Those are not Russians trying to leave.
A total of 91 undocumented migrants have tried to enter Finland on its eastern border since August. These are third-country nationals who used Russia as a transit country and applied for asylum in Finland.
91 at official border crossings in 3 months is nothing, but they need to keep an eye on the situation. So far, Russia is no longer stopping them from crossing towards Finland without documents. On the border between Belarus and Poland they area already a step further and migrants are being used as desperate tools to breach the border and fences towards Poland.
I think you misunderstood the title. Iran did not attack anyone, it’s militants in Syria who launched attacks and where the USA did already strike back.
And if you want to argue that supporting parties in a conflict should allow airstrikes on the supporting country, that argument is a dangerous double-edged sword. As then your argument would open up strikes on western countries who support parties in a foreign conflict as well. E.g. that argument would fit into Russia’s narrative of the war, claiming all the west is fighting against them in Ukraine.
Uh how many bikes do you own?
I noticed that I know that background from previous pictures on this community.
Autumn started here and I have rain every day, temps dropped a lot. I’m checking the forecast every hour, hoping for a dry window to ride a bit.
But this summer was exceptional. Usually, I barely ride July and August, as it has been way too hot over the last years (32 - 39°C). This year, most of the summer was only 25-30°C, so I was riding as much as possible to not regret it when the rainy weather starts.
Lots of Islamic Jihad & Hamas missiles fail during flight and kill Palestinians. Israel had published videos in the past showing e.g. 8 launches at night, pausing the video and showing how 2 or 3 suddenly turn down to the ground to hit the Gaza strip. And of course the local terrorist groups accounted dead Palestinians to Israel striking those locations. It’s sometimes easy to show, with visible rocket engines at night and sometimes harder.
“Fifty terrorists arrived in vans, dressed in military uniforms,” she said.
It is not far from the Gaza Strip, from where Hamas fighters crossed over at dawn to launch their attack. They infiltrated towns and villages, taking dozens of people hostage.
How is that possible to get that many armed people and vehicles across THAT border? I have never been there, I only know pictures of parts of the border from media, with barb wire fences, walls, concrete blocks, surveillance cameras, military checkpoints. Pretty much a border made to prevent anything like this.
Does anyone have further information where or how they managed to get that many people with that much equipment into Israel?
It’s probably meant as distinction from other sectors with Methane emissions, e.g. agriculture, transport, chemical industry…
