  • I just chip away at my list every time there’s a sale. This time I got God of War, Spiderman, Jedi Survivor, and Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.

DD was an impulse buy since I don’t know anything about it, but the reviews were good. It was $4.79 and I see there’s a sequel coming later this month, so that’s probably a good deal and a good time to catch up.

But I’ll probably still be “ahh, suffering…” through Elden Ring when the summer sale rolls around…

  • I’ve used this argument unironically with creationists without realizing it was a thing. “If God is omnipotent, why couldn’t God create something that didn’t exist a moment ago but then comes into existence with billions of years of history.”

It’s just an attempt to at least get them to acknowledge science while still leaving room for faith, since carbon dating isn’t really up for debate and cosmology offers more than enough convincing evidence against a young universe, just to name two examples.

Anyway I thought I was being creative and original… guess not.

  • I know people like to hate Halo Infinite for a number of reasons, but IMO battle passes are one thing they do fine. MP is free, while the $10 battle passes are optional and you can buy and finish them any time.

I’m still on season 2 while everyone else is on 4 (I think?) I play a few rounds once a week, maybe, but there’s no FOMO because you earn the rewards at whatever pace you want. Once you finish a battle pass you can buy the next one. Or you can buy them out of order or skip any of them.

  • The TMNT weapons are katana, sai, staff, nunchucks. We already have katana (samurai) and sai (ninja/daggers.) I suppose the staff could be BLM. Maybe there’s a nunchuck/chained mace wielding melee job, or a quarterstaff melee. Maybe a nunchuck/mace melee and another staff caster?

There’s been talk about an alchemist caster in the past - that could hint from the TMNT origin where a scientist creates a mutagen that spills into the sewer and mutates the turtles.

The old TMNT movies featured Jim Henson puppets, so maybe puppet master - a job in FFXI.

The TMNT characters are obviously animals, so… beast master?

I agree that the corsair theories are good though, but corsair has been a gunslinging job in the past, which is currently filled by machinist, and apparently it’s also been confirmed that the new class is not ranged physical. Corsair would need to be some sort of sword/thief job, and that itself seems unlikely at this point.

  • I’m excited to buy it when it comes to PC, but my single-player rpg backlog is long already. I’ll probably end up waiting for a sale, which shouldn’t take too long if articles like this keep coming.

This will be my first single player FF since 10. I love XIV, so it seems to me that the hype of using the XIV team on this game wouldn’t add a huge amount of value to a PS5 exclusive release when the majority of XIV players are on PC, and others are still on PS4. It’s not like PC enjoyers and PS4-content players are going to go buy a PS5 just to play it early. They’re waiting for the port, then they’re waiting longer still for the port to be fixed.

I’ve been very happy with my Corsair Scimitar Elite. It’s not wireless though, but I use a Razer V3 bungee to keep the cable convenient. I tried Logitech’s cheaper MMO mouse first and it felt cramped, chinsey, and the side buttons felt sharp and jagged. The Scimitar solved all those problems for me. Before that, I used a Logitech G604, which I loved, but the switches failed just after the warranty expired - not an uncommon problem for those Omron switches. Hopefully I have better luck with the Scimitar’s. So far so good.

I’m a windows-using rube, and I know Corsair’s iCue won’t run on Linux because it requires .net, but if you have dual boot or a VM or access to a windows PC, then you can edit profiles in Windows and save them to the mouse hardware. The only thing you’ll miss is auto-changing profiles when you open an application, so be sure to bind a mouse key to switch profiles, and assign RGB that lets you know which profile you’re in. I assume this method would apply to any mouse with hardware profiles.

I prefer wireless mice too, so I also use a M65 Ultra for FPS games. I find myself using the MMO mouse for desktop though, because having page up/down and home/end on the mouse is great.

Here’s the thing about Bluetooth: it’s usually slightly laggy and will often take inconsistent time to connect. It’s generally not great for gaming because of the lag especially. That’s why gaming mice have a usb dongle that uses faster sample rate (Corsair has Slipstream, Logitech has Lightspeed, etc.) I’ve used both of those and they always wake up in <1s. When I switch to a simple Bluetooth mouse for my work laptop, I definitely feel the lag. If you’re short on usb ports, you should have no problems using a wireless mouse dongle on a hub.
