Sega Dreamcast is not an example of a console that I would describe as “built to last”. I had two and both of them died in the same way - the optical lens cracked from heat stress and stopped reading disks. There was never any warning it was about to happen, and no way to prevent it as far as I knew.

As unlucky as I was with the Dreamcast, I made up for it by only ever having to buy one Xbox 360. I still own my original console which was never refurbished and never red ringed on me.

  • I kind of wish that Chris Roberts would just take the hint and STFU about release dates for SQ42/SC. There were so many broken promises that any trust that they will hit targets is gone.

I can at least say that, based purely off of what I’ve seen of their gameplay trailers, 2026 is a more realistic release date for Squadron 42 that any of the previous target dates were. The question isn’t if it’s going to be finished by then, it will be if they are going to release it in a playable state at that time.

2027-2028 for Star Citizen is completely unrealistic. The game is nowhere near finished enough to consider that a date that will stick, even if you get all the people working on SQ42 to move over to SC after it eventually releases, the extra manpower can’t make up for the huge hole they’ve dug themselves into. They still have a years-long backlog of content to produce and show no sign of slowing down on offering new pledges. When they catch up with releasing all of the ships that people have paid money for and 10 years later still have nothing to show for it, then we can talk about release dates - ones that give enough time for proper bug fixing, polish, and gameplay balance. 2 or 3 years from now ain’t it.

  • If russia was losing there wouldn’t be discussion about ukraine giving up some land

You might have some semblance of a point if Zelenskyy and Putin were the ones having this negotiation, but the only two people seriously discussing this are Trump (a moron and a traitor) and Putin (the guy currently losing).

Why does Russia want peace so badly if they could just win at any time? Believe me, dipshits like you have been flooding my DMs for 3 years saying Russia is only a few weeks away from crushing Ukraine and I love nothing more than setting up reminders to come back and taunt you when Ukraine is still here, still fighting, and not willing to take some shitty deal that Trump the Traitor and Putin decided on themselves behind closed doors.

So tell me, how much longer before Russia wins this conflict? Can’t wait for your next big prediction Nostradumbass. I’ll be sure to save it and come back to make fun of you just like all the others. Nothing else makes me feel more superior.

You are right about one thing, though. No occupation is eternal. The Russian invaders will be expelled from Ukraine eventually.

Could someone just make, like, Raunchy Mastercard and just process payments from everyone including all the porn and weird shit that the other mainstream companies don’t want? It seems like the payment processors being puritanical dipshits is a weakness that could be exploited by an enterprising competitor.

But then again, we’re talking about a natural monopoly that has been in place for decades at this point. I wouldn’t expect them to exactly play fair.

  • Yeah, I think a lot of people are completely missing the point. Very similar to how saying “black lives matter” doesn’t imply that non-black lives do not matter, or that black lives must somehow be considered more important than any other life, the phrase “believe women” doesn’t imply that we should start doubting men, or that a woman’s testimony should be held as a higher form of evidence than anything else. It’s pointing out the clear systemic bias against women in a system controlled and dominated mostly by men who do not want to cede their power and authority.

One of the many flaws of the English language is how difficult it is to condense a very complex sociopolitical message down into a catchy one-liner without losing a ton of the context that got people there in the first place.
