Any distro that’s based on an existing one but changes or adds very little to it. There are so many dead Ubuntu and Debian reskins
I love the Atari ST and Linux!

Jirard never seemed like the type of guy to pull something like this and I really want to see his response but having the money just sit there (and hopefully still there) for years is a really bad look for him. At the very least he was just clueless but that’s still damaging taking into account all the lies on the charity streams
I love seeing stuff like this! I think anyone who is used to windows should try Linux out on a cheap laptop and see how they like it.
Damn. I have dealt with this for so long that I forgot it was even a bug.
I have seen this same image circulated for years. We need a new one because transmission in D tier is unacceptable.
Check it out. It’s a really fun game and perfect for the deck.
Yeah it’s great, It’s never been a better time to be a Linux user. There’s always something to look forward to and we get more support every year. I’m going to give cosmic a shot when they release it.
Seeing how he looks now is incredibly sad. I really hope he makes it though this.
Glad to see another runcat user. It’s a must have extension.
I used the Equilux GTK theme for years but it’s been abandoned since 2018 and GNOME has changed a lot since then. I switched to Colloid and it didn’t take much to tweak it to my liking, mainly reducing the size of the titlebar and panel.
I wish. Even xfce will get wayland support before they do.
It sucks that cool projects like hyprland are usually riddled with toxic weirdos that ruin it. It also sucks that there’s not much to choose in the wayland space that’s usable and actively developed but I refuse to use hyprland after seeing this.
I have been pretty comfortable here because I’m into nerdy things and most of us here are nerds. In fact, the only people that cared about reddit locking down the API were nerds or people jumping on the bandwagon because it was the next big thing. Others didn’t care and just wanted reddit back and a lot of people that were here in the beginning went back to reddit. We will probably grow overtime but there’s no point in wondering why lemmy isn’t more popular, just participate in the communities you like.
If there’s a game that can’t run on Linux in the current year then that’s intentional and it’s not worth anyone’s money.
Hopefully the day of RISC-V overthrowing x86 is sooner than we think. Progress on development has been fast and it’s very exciting.
Papirus is by far the best icon theme for Linux. It has icons for even the most obscure and niche applications
Teeworlds. When I was a kid I searched up “free online multiplayer games on pc” and it actually led me to this Wikipedia article full of open source games. I tried out teeworlds and I was hooked on it and it led me to playing other open source games like cube 2 and open arena. In my head, the term open source meant “free stuff”. Searching for open source stuff led me to discovering Linux and trying it though the Wubi installer and eventually moving to it a few years later.
I haven’t come across any since yesterday but I’m putting this in just in case
This is what Gentoo needed. I’ve been using it for a long time and love it as it is but sometimes when there’s a bunch of slot conflicts or a compile error it makes me wish I just dealt with binaries instead. Now that we have the best of both worlds, it will make Gentoo appeal to a wider userbase and make it less painful to use on older hardware.
