This stuff is eventually going to be the end of the EU.
People in rich countries don’t like people with different color skin from other countries.
As far as I can tell from Google, the fastest route at the moment is about 9 hours. Not a huge difference, but still more than 10 percent faster.
Awesome!
They are retaining staff by paying more than most other companies, but they also have a reputation for running their workers into the ground by overworking them. Many burn out pretty quickly.
Where did I “admit” that? I said maybe, maybe not. Campaigning on the issues will lock judges into their biases. It will never work well.
You can impeach all of them, including Supreme Court justices, within the framework of the law that has been set by elected representatives.
Yes, I disagree. I already stated why.
Maybe, maybe not. But blatantly giving up on neutrality by electing judges based on their political views does not help promote justice.
There’s already a system in place to hold politicians accountable.
I want judges who base their rulings on the law and not their political views. In theory, laws adjust to the popular view over time. Judges should not be part of that adjustment.
So, the judges will have to campaign on the issues? Doesn’t seem like the best idea if you want neutral and unbiased judges.
It’s kind of sad. If the Schengen agreement ends up collapsing, it would severely undermine the foundation of the entire European project and could potentially lead to the eventual demise of the EU as a whole. The EU knows this and they are desperate to keep borders open. But it’s just not going to happen, at least not until the external borders are dealt with.
Yeah. Although there’s plenty to learn from history, humans have a tendency to ignore it and go with the populist policy of the day instead. The US has been going down that same road with Trump.
Yes, it’s been pretty easy for a long time. However, there’s been a slow but steady move toward more border controls over the past few years. Individual countries pretty much ignore EU reprimands about keeping borders open with a big fat “screw you.” They have found a loophole, which allows them to close the borders for 6 months at a time and continue that indefinitely. It’s been mostly smaller countries like Austria and Denmark, but we’re now seeing Germany join that behavior. All of this will eventually add to air travel prices and definitely to the time it takes to travel by car and train.
Looks like the Schengen area is pretty much just disintegrating at this point. I doubt the borderless freedom of movement we’ve been used to for a long time is coming back anytime soon. Closures are definitely snowballing at the moment.
Compete on quality, not price.
German cars never completed on price at all. They compete on quality. They can compete on quality again.
So, the man with the mustache is making a comeback in Germany?
Weird mustache-man is making a comeback.
