I’ve had a similar experience with Guix.
I’ve had a similar experience with Guix.
Never used nix but it’s goals are similar to guix. Worth checking out if you ever get extra hw.
Gnu Guix. By default Guix uses only free libre software, but there are ways to install it with a non-free kernal. Systemcrafters has a guide (this is what I used) as well as non-guix (guix repo for non free software).
More like: Looks Cool
Versus how it is now: Looks cool
or if you have a shit ton of tabs open: lo… co…
That’s badass!
I the portability of the steamdeck. Years ago I had a desktop gaming PC that over time I used less and less because the lass thing I wanted to do after sitting at a desk all day was to sit at a desk some more.
I bring my deck with me when I travel for work, go on vacation, when my wife and I spend the afternoon at my parents. I’ll even bring it with me if I have to bring my car to the shop and I have to wait. I play games in my recliner, and in bed. I’ve never been a frame rate snob so the steamdeck suits me just fine.
Apparently, sh.itjust.dont.work (on everist)
Oh I hadn’t heard of constellation. I’ll have to check it out. I haven’t yet watched silo but plan to.
I enjoyed For All Mankind, Invasion, Monarch, and Severence!
Yeah Linux is great at supporting old hardware. I had an old desktop I built in 2009 lying around doing nothing. So I installed guix w/ a non-libre kernel onto it and brought it back to life!
Maybe someday all this media will be archived as dna: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/dna-the-ultimate-data-storage-solution/
I recently started using simple tab groups and like it. I just wish there was a way to keep my tabs in groups sync’d across devices. So if I open or close a tab in a group on my desktop, when I go to my laptop that group would be updated with the changes. It doesn’t seem to work that way currently, at least when I tested it out.
I’ll sometimes comment on stuff but overwhelmingly I don’t. I was the same way on reddit. I just feel that I don’t have anything meaningful to say so why say anything.
It is a great video on the matter. The people at https://www.equal.vote/ know their stuff!
It sucks that you have to deal with misogyny on-line like that.
Lmfao Timmy Apples shoulda used waze.
Hell yeah I am. I’ve been using linux since 2019. I bought a dell laptop and installed manjaro.
I recently discovered GNU Guix and decided to install it onto an old desktop (built in 2009) I had laying around. I used a system crafters custom installer and the accompanying video to do a non-libre kernel install. I’ve been liking Guix and I think I’m going to install it onto my laptop and make it my daily driver.
I love love love my steamdeck! It re-invigorated my gaming! Currently loving Brotato.
The article talks about the process. Author links to website with instructions. They said the whole process took them about an hour and was easy.
Living my best life with Guix!
