This is something I’ve taken for granted as per app volume control is integrated into the OS on Motorola phones and I’ve been using mid range Motorolas since the Moto G 4 in 2016 (they offer a reasonable price, reasonable performance, microSD card and headphone jack).

Then I was setting up a Samsung tablet last weekend and was horrified to see I had to use the Samsung store to download Sound Assistant for something I had just assumed was a standard OS feature for close to a decade.

I guess it depends on how general you want it to be. A general ai that could learn SMB, breakout, bubble bobble or Warioware would different from something more specialized that is tailored for only platformers like SMB, sonic, etc.

Personally as a consumer that’s ideal, if I’m curious about their other games they have a centralized list, if I’m not interested then I can move on with my life.

Every steam dev gets the same link, its a nice standardized way of exploring their work without spamming up their other product pages.

In both Adam Coster quotes he is very careful to state that the stats he presents are relative to the trackable traffic. I wonder how the numbers for trackable vs untrackable breakdown.

I might be missing something here but I don’t really hangout on a game’s steam page after I’ve made a purchase.

Tennis for Two was a realtime tennis simulation a full 14 year earlier. Of course there wasn’t really a video arcade industry to bring it into the mainstream in the late 1950"s.

My first thought was “didn’t they just do that?” But I’ve checked and the Directors Cut was released on Wii and DS in 2009. Its been a minute.

I just used web archive to check and it looks like the 87K version and its description as “rather new” has been there for 21 years now. It was built to target Windows 95 and is still working on Windows 11 so at this point i would say its “pretty stable”.

And was re-released last week. I was pleased to see the 2024 console ports still support LAN play.

The problem wasn’t that the line I wanted wasn’t on the page—it’s that the whole document wasn’t being rendered at once, so my browser’s builtin search bar just couldn’t find it.

I feel like this has been the case for a while now. Luckily they offer other search tools so its a gotcha that you only have to hit once.

In edit mode they capture the crtl-f keystrokes and offer their own search and replace tool. An argument could be made that they should offer a custom search tool for read mode if they are going to break the browsers built in tooling.

You are right, having the password in the same vault does mean that if the vault itself is compromised they have both. Guess I could move the TOTP to a separate authenticator app but the only other apps I have a mobile only and there are times I need to login without having hands on my phone.

I guess the time based aspect of the TOTP makes it a little more resistant to having someone monitor my keystrokes or clipboard or whatever and capture a relatively long lived secret like my password. So I guess its a comprise I’m willing to make.

I generate a TOTP with my password manager, it stores all my other login details and keeps it simple.

The feature only appears if both devices in the conversation have it.
