Interesting, I’ll have to play around with it. I’ve been docking it to my 4k TV so maybe I need to force a lower res.
Nice, thanks. How has your docked experience been? I’ve only been able to get it working well with low-power games like Monster Train. Any 3d game seems to run horribly, even older titles.
Do y’all use a controller in heldheld mode or only docked? I’m curious what the use case is here.
I went into it totally blind and really fell in love. I definitely recommend trying it out when you want to feel some feels.
Spiritfarer. Got it on sale for $5 a while ago and it’s surprisingly touching and addictive. I even cried at one point.
Very informative. I wonder why Nintendo went with such a poor-performing display. Maybe to get users onboard with the inevitable refresh model?
I snagged Steins;Gate for $3. I’ve never played a visual novel before and I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but I’ll give it a shot.
Seems like things are functional now. I imagine the servers got hit hard during the start of the sale.
That form factor looks quite awkward for one-handed use. OG Blackberries were amazing because they were the perfect size to do things quickly one-handed, but you could switch to 2-handed typing for longer messages. I think it will be tricky to capture that kind of flexibility in a modern phone because the screens are so large.
When I was living in a car I’d wardrive nightly to find Wifi. This was before Wifi was commonly available in public spaces, and household routers often used a default password or no password at all. I’d use it to pirate games and movies to keep myself entertained.
Later I moved into a 4 plex apartment and convinced the neighbors to share one Internet connection. We ran ethernet through walls and across the roof and split the bill.
You really shouldn’t use your debit card for anything other than withdrawing money at an ATM. Credit cards are safer plus you get rewards.
7" non-OLED screen is a hard no from me, regardless of everything else.
I think it’s interesting that Microsoft is leaning into Windows on Xbox devices. It lends credibility to the rumor that the next Xbox console will run Steam natively.
I played Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine for the first time in over 20 years. I never managed to beat it when I was younger but I blew right through it in an hour this time around, even with arthritic hands. Feels good.
No. 34 million current gamepass subscribers. 40% of Xbox gamers are from US, so roughly 13.6 million subs in the US. There’s 131 million US households, thus 1 in 10.
40% of Xbox gamers are from the US. The US has 132 million households. That means that roughly 1 in 10 US households currently has a Gamepass sub. Hope that puts it into perspective.
PS Plus is closer to Xbox Live than Xbox Gamepass. Xbox Live had 40-50 million subs at the time in 2020.
Presently Xbox Live has 120 million users vs 33 million PS Plus Essentials subscribers. Gamepass has 34 million subs vs 14 million higher-tier PS Plus subs. Even if we drop Nintendo into the mix, Gamepass has an equal number of subs to Nintendo Online members. Seems like they’re doing just fine.
They hit 10 million subs 5 years ago. Not sure what your definition of “lots” is…
That’s a yikes from me dawg.
