  • You’re right in that exclusives are becoming less and less but I still think it’s worth getting a PS5.

If you have the wallet for it I think the perfect setup is owning a switch for party games and Nintendo exclusives, a PS5 for Sony exclusives/general couch gaming and as your media machine, and a PC for all the rest.

Ps5 definitely has some great exclusives that imo make the system worth it, not to mention the graphical upgrades and how quick it is compared to a ps4.
-Ghost of Tsushima is a beautiful game, with a great story and gameplay, performs so much better on PS5 -Spiderman 2 -God of war Ragnarok -Horizon zero dawn -Gran Turismo

I use my PS5 for most of my games over my gaming PC, just more comfortable for me. Also I still like that you can get lucky if you go to a GameStop and find used physical copies of expansive games at a discount.

I have also always recommended owning an Xbox/PlayStation as a media device as well. Sound and image quality usually surpass your smaller basic steaming devices or built in smart TVs. Compared to my ps5, my ps4 crawls through the menus and loading screens. One of those things that you won’t notice until you upgrade.

Having said all that, I wouldn’t get the “pro” model, unless you have the cash and want to game in like 8k or some bs

  • Had the Razr 5g, got it new for $600 through a T-Mobile offer. Loved the OS, very similar to pixels. Loved how small it was in my pocket. It became super easy to use daily but… On month 9 a line appeared on my display, that night my phones battery died and upon reboot whole inside screen was messed up. The phone other wise looks pristine, and I have a case that protects it. I never dropped it either. Their one year warranty conveniently does not cover the screen and repair was $950 through Motorola. After arguing the did issue a discount and the phone would cost $750 to repair…when you could get a brand new one on their site for $600 at the time. Ridiculous.

Never buying Motorola again. Might try the Samsung flip in a few years once the tech is solid and affordable.

Exclusives can be beneficial. By exclusives, I don’t mean Sony/Microsoft pay the developer for exclusivity, that sucks. What I’m referring to is a developer picking a platform and developing a game using that platforms full potential. Games like Zelda, Crash Bandicoot, God Of War, Last Of Us all took full potential of their consoles architecture and brought pretty good games.

  • Yup. As an adult with less time to play, you really notice how much AAA games are just copy and paste with a new area on a map or same mission, but different npc.

I just picked up the 2022 remaster of Pacman World from 1999. The game design in that game is so nice. Each level has new enemies and new platform mechanics. I feel like only indie games bring innovation like that today while AAA is just rinse and repeat. (For the most part anyway…God Of War and Zelda are good examples of companies doing it right)

Dude amen, I hate the ideology of “I just want to have fun who cares if we win” …your teammates do. Thank goodness for skill based matchmaking and ranked although they tend to slow down the experience at times.

Games should have “carefree” lobbies for people who want to “just relax and play”
