Your not too dumb to learn linux. I know it seems scary, and a lot of the autistic people that like it will try to convince you it’s only for really smart people. But at the end of the day a lot of basic tasks are actually easier on linux. There are some that are harder gaming used to be very difficult for example. Although thanks to valve, and the steam deck for the most part if it’s a steam game you can just click play and it’s probably going to work.
But as an example of a more basic thing, let’s say you want to install an application.
Windows: go to Google, type app name, make sure it’s the real actual website officially for that app and not a sponsored result or some other fake website, find the download, pray it’s not buried in a bunch of fake download buttons, double click the exe, be careful to make sure it’s not installing any toolbars or other packaged bullshit, finally get your application.
Linux: there are some variations (apt dnf pacman) but all of them work the same, for arch it’s “pacman -Syu <name of app>” id argue thats WAY easier. If it’s not in the main repos chances are high it’s in the AUR (arch user repository) so you just yay -Syu <name of app>. It’s not harder (imo) just different.
I’ve actually had a number of pretty average computer user friends let me help them transition to Linux because of the crap Windows is doing lately. And after getting used to the differences they agree that Linux is not actually harder, it’s just different, they grew up with windows, they are used to how things are done on windows, so it seemed difficult just because it wasn’t the same. But once they got used to it they would actually agree that a lot of things are actually easier.
Now whether or not you want to put in that time to learn those differences, and change how you use your computer, is an entirely different question that you have to ask yourself. But you are not too stupid to learn Linux because realistically it’s not any more difficult than Windows is
If you use the default piped instance then it’s usually overloaded. You can either try finding an alternative or just host your own, personally I do the ladder I rented a VPS for 20 bucks a month and I host my own pipe there

Unless you’re taking road trips literally every other week you could just rent a gas vehicle when it’s time for a road trip. Rather than make the decision of the car you’re going to drive every single day based on something you only do maybe once a year.

Unless you take road trips often having a place to charge is literally any random Outlet. You don’t need a fancy dedicated fast charger if you drive less than 100 miles in a day. Think about how many hours your car is just sitting at home, it has that many hours to charge it doesn’t matter if it charges in 1 and 1/2 hours or 9 hours as long as it gets charged
So even as a renter as long as you have any kind of outdoor outlet or garage you’ve got somewhere to charge
What do you mean by bad for 95% of people? 95% of people drive less than 60 miles in a day. Which is something that can easily be recovered overnight with a standard 15 amp outlet not even a special dedicated charger they would have been fine with early electric vehicles much less what we have today

This is great to hear, now maybe hire some more developers to make it work so i can switch. I desperately want to ditch plex, and i have jellyfin installed along side it for testing. It still regularly fails at basic content matching, playback of various files, and has significantly worse transcoding performance than plex.
So while I’m desperate to escape them as they charge for basic features like tone mapping I’m also stuck until an alternative is at least as usable as plex. It’s the one thing i don’t have an open source self host for at this point.
I’ve got immich for photos, Seafile for storage, my own pastebin, a piped instance (YouTube front end), a whoogle instance and several other self host alternatives. Really hoping jellyfin can take over for plex
If we didn’t already have the perfect option that is bitwarden I would probably go for this. But there’s really no reason to switch away from bitwarden to this. It’s open source, gets regularly publicly audited, and nothing ever leaves your device unencrypted. So even if they had their data center broken into and all machines stolen physically I wouldn’t have to worry about my passwords
Everyone always thinks the jewelry when they think of diamonds but I am excited for the prospects of what cheap lab-grown diamonds can do for manufacturing. Diamonds are electrically insulative and yet 10 times more thermally conductive than copper. There are a LOT of industries that would be VERY interested in that.
Hell, it would probably be useful in CPU substrate as well. Instead of silicon semi conductor doping if these could be made precisely enough you could use diamond for the insulation layers and gain that insane heat transfer efficiency to help with avoiding Hotspots. Maybe that’s too thin to matter that much not sure
