A Palestinian Jew advocating socialism. They’d kill him on the spot.
Later on, I learned that an excess of comments is actually not considered a good practice.
Pointless or uninformative comments are not good, regardless of the quantity.
Useful and informative comments are always good, regardless of the quantity.
I learned that comments might be a code smell indicating that the code is not very clear.
When I’m looking at someone else’s code, I want to see extensive, descriptive comments.
Good code should be so clear, that it doesn’t need comments.
That hits me like something a teacher tells you in a coding class that turns out to be nonsense when you get to the real world.
I’m not sure how others do it.
As I’m coding, the comments form part of my plan. I write the comments before the code. As I discover I’ve made incorrect assumptions or poor decisions, I correct the comments with the new plan, then correct the code to match the updated comments.
As a final step in coding, when I feel it is complete, I’ll review comments to determine what should remain to help future me if I ever have to dig into it again.
Variable names should be reasonably memorable and make contextual sense, but that’s it. That’s what they exist for. Don’t overload the purpose of anything I’m the code.
Now come on, I’m sure plenty still are.
Imagine for a moment if the fortune spent on the failed wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was instead invested in reducing our dependence on oil.

Use reports lightbulb is broken. Support spends an hour talking user through diagnostic tests. Determines that the lightbulb in question is a houseplant.
When I was going through public school, our school district was shrinking, so they were consolidating schools.
What had been the junior high school was being turned into the middle school.
To move the middle school library, all the kids just walked in a line from one library to the other. You’d pick up one book and carry it to the new location, then head back.
I truly believe they thought they were helping.
At the end, we did. At this point my FIL passed away more than 10 years ago. MIL downsized and tossed most things. There’s really nothing left that we would need to deal with.
She still owns the most uncomfortable furniture. I was thinking that it might just be because of my size (6’4"), but my wife (5’1") agrees that it’s just terrible. There’s one chair my MIL uses and I wonder if that’s the only comfortable one.
Trying to avoid being rude, making them feel bad.
My in-laws used to do this.
I love them, but every time they bought something new, they’d give us the old one like it wasn’t something they were getting rid of. Easier to give it to us than throw it away.
The last time was a sofa and a love seat. We were stuck with the most uncomfortable furniture I’ve ever had in my life.
Remember to moan with pleasure during the strip search. Ask if they’re single. Touch yourself. Smile seductively. Have fun with it.
Last Monday we made sausage and spinach strombolis. 1/2 hot & 1/2 mild Italian sausage, chopped frozen spinach (thawed and drained), mozzarella and parmigiana cheese. Brown the sausage, cool it, mix with the spinach and cheese, wrap individually into single-serving strombolis. Roughly three pounds of sausage makes 12 strombolis.
We’ve been eating them every day since Monday and had the last two yesterday.
I wouldn’t make it every day, but only because a recipe makes 12. However, I wanted to make it again after six days of eating them so I could eat them for another six days.
While US doesn’t have the great food
That’s just ignorant. There’s plenty of absolutely fantastic food in the U.S.
I have no idea why anyone would visit us now, but if you manage to get past the fascist scum, there are plenty of amazing places to eat.
They need to come up with enough people to deport to justify their lies about the border.
Why would they bother when Trump is going to sink the whole country?
Earlier someone posted that the protests aren’t going to be noticed by or cause any inconvenience to the oligarchs.
It isn’t about them noticing the protests, and it isn’t about the media talking about it.
At this point it’s a movement that has to grow until everyone knows even if they keep trying to bury their heads in the sand. It needs to show the billionaire owned media that they are powerless to suppress the truth.
The movement needs to keep growing until it can’t be denied. It needs to keep growing until they know they can not win.
We have a choice. Either we sit back and go into the gas chambers one at a time, or we show them that they are too outnumbered to succeed.
Maybe it likes the hose. Don’t kink shame!
It hides the problem
Seems to be working as intended
