1 day agoIf you jump to the 16 minute mark of this video, you can see engineers in the 90s brainstorming the concept of having a scanner built into the cart. The idea has been around for a while.
The whole video is a time capsule in itself.

Same with me. Deleted my 13-year-old account and finally joined Lemmy yesterday. I actually found an app that looks a whole lot like Relay for Reddit back in the day. So now I’m totally comfortable here.
