You don’t need that same software. The principle is still the same though, you’re loading ROMs of games on there. The 3DS console method simplifies it because they created their own freeshop, but with this, you’re going to load the ROMs yourself.
I just play Steam Deck and write about gaming + Linux a lot

Oh. You’re absolutely right! I’m going to have to go back in and add that, somehow it just passed me by!!! Thank you!
It is! I love how closely it resembles my (very loved) DSi. The clean white look makes me so happy!

There are links at the end of my article, but you can just follow one of countless guides on YouTube, there are many!
My old friend Terry (GrownUpGaming) has a good video on the process on YT, if you need one to follow along to :)

I’m surprised you haven’t heard of Eden before this! It’s the choice for emulating on Android now! They’re very well established, and seem to be vouched for by all the ‘big’ names in the emulation and handhelds scene.
Obviously practicing your own caution is important, but Eden isn’t some unknown fly-by-nighter. They’re very, very much a known name now.

Oops! Shit, that’s just me not reading what I write!
This always happens to me on here. Thanks for pointing it out!!!

Yes, Yuzu was a court-ordered take-down.
Ryujinx was a voluntary removal by the devs (though one of the original team now runs Ryubing)

I hope you enjoy it!
I assume most or all of it goes to Gardiner Bryant and not the OP.
I make no money from Gardiner’s site, or any other way I’ve done these articles. They’re just because I love to write and because I love the gaming scene. Thanks for realizing that!
Daijishō is the launcher up top!
No, Nintendo is the only one who managed that! This is just straight AMOLED
This is not ‘my’ blog. Its my friend’s: Gardiner Bryant. I contribute there because I love gaming and I love writing.
Should we start removing all links from this community, do you think? Because sharing links to sites (by your own ‘logic’) are just ads. Right?
It does, yes! I’m running all my ROMs from a Samsung SD card on there.
Yes, it does! I’m running all my ROMs via a 512GB Samsung card.
For fuck’s sake.
Go and look at my post history on Lemmy. I’m more than established on here, as I am on Mastodon. I’m not a ad, this wasn’t a paid review. They sent me the device and had no idea what I’d write about it. If it was terrible, I’d have said so. That’s…how this works. In the case of the AYN Thor, it’s just genuinely a VERY good handheld. I stand by what I’ve written. You would too, if you got one.
I loathe that you don’t know me, didn’t check my history with Lemmy, and just called me a paid shill. Fucking shitty.
As to reviewing this handheld and liking it. Its like if you got sent a Steam Deck, and gave it a good review…would you consider that an ad? A product which holds up to scrutiny? My findings seem to be pretty in-line with others who have reviewed the device.
Ugh.
While it’s outdated, its the divers that make it the better option for Switch emulation! But, with time will come drivers which make the newer upgrades work as well, like 8gen2. Right now, it’s the community support that keeps the 865 being the most stable and the one I’d recommend the most (with Turnip) for Switch emu!
But as for everything else? It’s a weigh up for what is most important to you!
Exactly this!
CEMU on Android is still very new to the scene, so some things work and some don’t. I’d consider it just an added bonus (like Wind Waker!) when things work!
Glad you found the info!
For a handy stats sheet, this was included too:

No. Absolutely nothing on that front so far. Not even slightly close!
