Congratulations! Haven’t played FF 1 in years, but I still think about it.
Here is an OLD 8-bit comic “based” on the story and characters from that game. Always makes me smile.

BitWarden.
One of the best, if not the best password manager I’ve ever used.
while I do completely agree with Apple depressing lack of any innovation recently, until modern foldable phones become commonplace, there is only so much you can do with a brick of glass.
They are not getting down-voted into nothingness for refusing to tow the party line.
I appreciate the variety of opinions presented here. Plus (in my experience) the conversation has been civil.
Calm down sparky.
Last time I checked we are all stuck here. Unless you have a Planet B that you’re keeping to yourself then we are all in this together.
Ah, but you forget about the rubber band finally snapping. When it is released there will be push back and things will happen quickly.
Now the real question becomes, how much more can we take. I believe we are reaching a tipping point where the uber-rich either help, or are removed. And I think they are starting to see that too.
Who is passing blame?
It’s our fault we are here, it’s our fault this happened, it’s our fault when we are finally gone.
But life itself will adapt, and overcome this obstacle, just like it has countless times before, and will countless times again.
Personally I believe that our lasting impact will be plastics, which will get compressed by time and become the “rocket fuel” of the next species to gain full sentience, which will allow them to explore the galaxy.
Are they all running on the Pi, or just the torrenting tools?
I completely missed this one. I’m going to find it this weekend.
Thanks for sharing!
It blew my mind how much better it is over LastPass.
Like why was I living like that for so long?
Security.
There can be more to it, such as diversity, portability, backups, remote access, and configurations… but it comes down to basic security.
Browser based password managers are not the primary focus of the tool, but instead are included as an after thought to make it more convenient. But that means security is not necessarily the primary focus, which can obviously be an issue for you.
There is also the password issue. In order to use a browser based password manager, you have to sign into an account through the browser. But then when is the next time you log back into that account on the browser?
I use Firefox, and sync between all of my devices, which is awesome. But I only log into it once, maybe twice and then I’m done. However, I log into my password manager at least once a day, sometimes multiple times a day. So if there are any issues or concerns with the browser or the device, my passwords and credit card info are not compromised.
Then there is the security issue that browsers deal with constantly. Chrome (and their whole ecosystem of chromium based browsers) release zero-day patches at least once a quarter, if not more often. Which means the browser is at risk along with all the passwords you are saving there. Firefox and Safari also drops zero-days, but almost every browser is based on Chromium, which is a whole separate thing.
A separate password manager provides significantly more security because that’s its only job. A Swiss Army knife is a great tool, but a standard pair of scissors is just going to do a better job cutting then the little pair that comes on the multitool.
dude…. I love Firefox, but just use BitWarden.
In my personal (very, very amateur) opinion; less than 10 years, where things keep running as “normal”
Humanity is awesome at adapting so I think it’ll be a very long time before things become impossible to deal with, but there is going to be a lot of transition and disruption over the next 20+ years
There is a scene in the TV show Newsroom (with Jeff Daniels) where he (the news show anchor) is interviewing a climate scientist about the climate change situation. Everything the scientist says eludes to the fact that we are completely screwed. That everything we are trying would have been great things to start doing 20+ years ago. At this point we have already passed the point of recovery.
It was aired in like 2015, and I think of it every time someone talks about this, and what a surprise this whole thing is.
And their quarterly profits!
Okay, when a government has completely collapsed, after the total collapse of the larger global leading entity; a peaceful revolution that results in something completely new, should be the top option.
But I don’t think we have that much time
I like the theory, but is the original Legend of Zelda retro?
Cause Nintendo puts that up for sale every new game console release. But that is one of the original adventure games from 1986.
Thanks for doing the bare minimum.
