Everyone should get the same carbon budget a year. Maybe as a separate currency. It can then be saved up or traded to use as you see fit. Want to go on oversee flights? Better buy some carbon from some tree huggers with budget to spare.

Yes and no
The Telco can say between what antennas you are. In urban areas with lots of antennas that’s still pretty accurate to almost say what building. Especially with 5G the number of antennas and accuracy go upto in some cases centimeter/inch accuracy so better than GPS. That last case would be in a mall with small antenna in each corridor.
In rural areas with data switched off that’s more like somewhere in that square mile, way worse than GPS.
I need some alcohol at least once per month.
Tesla/Musk really went for the “I have the right to not use collective bargaining” and is really shocked to find out people went for “we have the right to strike”.

AI is even worse. It takes over the biases and misinformation of the info it was trained on, shows these on its answers to users who pick up those biases and use them elsewhere on the net, what is then used to train AI. It’s all becoming a shitification loop.
The tl;dr at the beginning of the post was shorter than the auto tl;dr and was enough info.
Factorio of course, because that’s what people already do. They start over and over again with ever bigger plans.
It’s not authoritarianism! It’s just a very repressive regime with Chinese characteristics.

There were enough American companies having an office in Ireland to avoid taxes. And soon also to avoid red state litigation.
I’m curious how that’s going to work in international context. Everything to do with the queer community suddenly has a link to .ca or .mx domain and server park outside the country where this doesn’t apply for example. Or reddit suddenly checks with the authorities in Zimbabwe if the ID is valid.
And then everybody slaps a “Only for 18+, fill in your birth day” on their site and nobody can legally claim it’s harming children.
Celebrities apparently.
So what are we going to do about?
Yes, some will fail but like evolution in living creatures, better adapted regions and ideas will survive and flourish. It’s the usual way in history. I figure it’s our job to start adaption where possible.
Because to fix it, what they have to change is everything. The way things are powered, produced, financed and probably also governed. Nobody will vote for that. They’ll keep trying to patch things up until it really starts to falls apart and people take the pieces to put them together differently.
In Snow Crash (Neal Stephenson) it makes fun of this, with the company complaining that paper money is clogging the toilets as people use this because it’s a lot cheaper than toilet paper because of extreme inflation.
Block all major roads going out of Hungary with trucks and call it a total random strike of truck drivers until he changes his tune.
