Born to Squint, Forced to See ⚜️
I could have sworn this dude got married in Aspen and spent $600M on it. They shutdown the airport for it even because of all the private traffic
How many times are they tying the knot?
If poptarts are ravioli, but also a sandwich, does that mean that all ravioli are sandwiches from the ingredient/structural rebel perspective?
A society goes to shit when old men start wars whose conflict they know they shall never fight in
Why would those Dutch people be so antisemitic /s
I got a cabin out in Shenandoah one time by Luray, and all the bugs out there are frickin massive.
I’m outside making bbq, having a mikes hard lemonade of some kind. Grab my bottle, take a swig, and suddenly I have what feels like a wet piece of carpet halfway in my mouth.
So I pull the bottle away from my face and lo and behold the most massive hornet I have ever seen in my life plops down and hits the ground. Like at least two and a half inches long. Little guy was drunk as all hell after taking a swim and thankfully didnt sting me when I had his ass in my mouth
Most substances that have any kind of enjoyable aspect tend to be very bitter and have an alkaline taste. Think of like coffee, we cut it with stuff or sweeten it with sugar. Pure alcohol would taste terrible, thats why we have beer, wine, and spirits. Its all alcohol but nowhere near entirely alcohol.
Also, not all substances are able to be used by your body in same way or with nearly the same level of efficacy. Some things have high bioavailability when snorted, like cocaine, but many things have no bioavailability when snorted (even if they do when consumed orally). Likewise you cant smoke just anything, as not everything can be absorbed through your lungs
That said, sugar and salt are probably the most commonly eaten substances that also jack up our dopamine levels. We just dont think of that as drug use. Spicy food can also be just as addictive, as eating really spicy food releases a lot of endorphins and makes some people feel great. Is that substance use? I think most people would say no, because were also doing it for the flavor. But my nervous system would say yes
Its not a “boomer” issue. Its a rich vs poor issue. The most common age group of people buying up tons of property in order to make it short term rentals are 30-40. Maybe 50. But certainly not over 50.
The short term rentals are especially evil because they take good starter housing stock off the market, reduce long term rental availability, and basically strangle every local economy that they exist in.
Apartments and normal long term rentals are largely owned by corporations at this point also. Not by boomers. Few people rent from an actual person anymore, unless its an airbnb

PSA for anyone who doesnt know: there is no such thing as a flushable wipe. “Flushable” is a marketing lie. Dont flush any wipes!
Good on them abandoning the dreadful culinary influence of the Brits. A culture so captivated by spices, but one that never thought to get high on their own supply. No no, just keep boiling things

Its what they are about to do to her as well, as they already explicitly announced she will have to undergo this testing before her next competition, or she wont be allowed to fight
I imagine someone pitched spider man shooting red and blue webs in the early 2000s, was shot down for that being unrealistic, and now feels super vindicated
Lil guy’s got panache comin out the wazoo, literally
Laissez-faire economic policy is far more tied in with neoliberalism than classical liberalism, as is the conservative bent. American Libertarianism is effectively the farthest extreme to which you can take neoliberalism. Classical liberalism doesnt have a modern equivalent really in the US at this point.
It is interesting to me that many other countries dont utilize a perspective of neoliberalism in making these distinctions, considering neoliberalism is hardly an American-specific thing. Although America has taken it to the furthest extreme, in terms of having no social safety nets for people and whatnot. “If you fail its your own fault entirely, and has nothing to do with society at all” is very much a neoliberal tenet. Classical liberalism is far more balanced than that
It seems like many of these “liberal” conservative parties in other countries are just neoliberals in sheep’s clothing
Everywhere Ive worked allergy related requests are not that common. Either way though, its literally the letter of the law that every food service place do it. Cross contamination prevention, especially for an allergy, is just basic food service 101. Its a bit frightening that you say youve never seen it anywhere
People who specifically requested their food be made without the thing they are allergic to?
Food allergies are something supposed to be taken extremely seriously in public food service. Second to general sanitation, its the whole point of why we have strict regulations about making and serving food.
From the minute the guy ordered w no onions and told them it was an allergy, his entire order should have been made and handled with fresh equipment that had been nowhere near any onions. Its not something that is ever supposed to be easily missable. Otherwise someone could end up in the hospital, like this dude
I was going to joke that Id prefer to live in a Jarlsberg, but when looking up Jarlsberg to spell it correctly I discovered its named for Jarlsberg Manor, which is (and this is true) a building
