Why are we using bitly? 🤦
The vanilla apps are constantly making bloat connections. (Atleast 8k-10k on adguard app per day)
Those connections are not being made. AdGuard is blocking them and then logging them for your review. That’s it’s job.
The best way to prevent them from even trying to make these connections is to use a 3rd party app. But both companies try to stop you from doing that because they profit off of those connections.
Pretty sad that that’s necessary. I’m good with CoMaps, thanks.
I honestly don’t even know what you’re trying to say.
…well that’s an interesting (bad) presumption.
Ah yes, the classic “everyone who disagrees with me is a troll”
So you made it up.
Android Auto is just a projection of the information on your phone so, as far as I know, it’s as private as your phone is.
Of course there’s always the possibility that the vehicle itself is doing a screen capture and processing the information on the display to send back to their servers but…seems unlikely on account of the processing power required for that.
Well I’ve never even heard of it so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that it was unsuccessful.
Where did you find that information?
I’m not a big fan of most RSS readers. And def not for Reddit content.
I replaced RIF with Stealth. It’s actually a really excellent read-only client that you can subscribe to subs and view content without contributing anything to Reddit.
RIF was arguably the best Reddit mobile app.
I don’t see any of that as useful, personally, other than changing the resolution. I sure as hell would not want to manage my video from the app LOL. But it’s great that they’re adding that.
but it’s always better to conduct some research than assume you understand how someone uses your app
You can create a community here to conduct research, as aeharding (Voyager) has done.
“Instant apps” = PWAs?
You’ll probably find a lot of Lemmy users do not use Google accounts and won’t be interested in joining a google group or installing via Play Store. Do you have an alternative method for installation?
The Steam Deck brings about a conversation about what a console is. To me, it’s something that plugs into the TV and doesn’t require KBM, and in that regard it very much is.
No Silicon Valley are the ones throwing these things away because it costs them too much money to deal with old unreliable PCs.
