I guess I’m the only one that’s stopped using a third party launcher… After getting an S23 and being on One UI 6 I’m finding I’m not hating the stock launcher anymore. I was using Nova forever.

I did this; got my husband’s kid a low end android phone on “pay as you go” since I knew he would either lose it or have it smashed within a few months. Was right on both accounts.
And yes that phone was as slow as molasses.
As much as I would love to only rely on f-droid, they do not have the same apps as the playstore or alternatives for everything.
My cellphone mindless games are Haru Slide and Match Fun 3D.
Honestly, no there isn’t. Even if Gimp can apparently do a lot of what Photoshop can, you have to first learn, then jump through 20 unintuitive hoops to get to the same result thst Photoshop can do in 2 clicks. Nothing compares as far as I’m concerned.
This was my experience with Photoshop. Got it installed, tried a few things, great, seems to work. Then eventually I went to actually use it, and it would consistently crash trying to do certain tasks. Back to dual boot I go…
I’m surprised they only made these guys 5’ 4" tall. Seems kind of short. Figure they’d have greater abilities if they made them taller, though maybe they’d fall over easier, I don’t know.
Yeah, to me this seems like such a strange post. I can easily pick up batteries at most stores I go to and use them in various stuff in my home. Never thought about them phasing out right now, but when I think about it I guess it’s true, I see a lot of gadgets that just charge with USB plugs now.
That’s what we had thought too. Also the fact that it was a really generic looking red plus sign. How can someone trademark a symbol used by everyone? I guess if it wasn’t red, it would have been fine. There was a lot of scoffing going on in clinic.
My vet clinic I work at was contacted by Red Cross some years ago damanding that we change our logo becuase it had a red plus sign in it. It was the most ridiculous thing. How did they even find out about us? we are no big time clinic, only people in our city are going to know who we are. We had that logo for a long, long time. It was just bizarre.
I don’t know anthing about EndlessOS, but Zorin tends to be a good Windows substitute.
Photoshop for me. Yeah I can get it running under Linux, but it keeps crashing, or is buggy.
And no, Gimp is not a good replacement if anyone goes there.
Gyfycat has also been running for 8 years, Imgur for 14. I’m talking only about the longevity of a service running. I don’t think people are expecting any instance to run for that amount of time, though its obviously too early to tell.
Clearly these large centralized services eventually decay away due to power hungry individuals within, but it takes some time.
I’m not sure if people are going to read this as I’m pro-centralized services, because I’m not, I’m just making statements.
If lemmy.world dies, you’re account goes down along with it. You would then need to find a new instance and make a new account.
I understand what you’re saying, but I feel more concerned with the stability of instances due to the fact that they’re run by everyday people as something to do, they already have lives and jobs outside of this. Maybe it’s a passion project they pour a lot into, but the possibility of it crashing down for various reasons is a lot higher than a larger centralized service run by companies whose soul purpose is to run that service.
Thanks for the reply!
Did you follow a guide to get Skyrim modded on the deck? I’ve modded it on Windows but never Linux.
I don’t know if I’d feel like I’d be missing out on anything personally, I don’t have any interest in what people from Facebook or Instagram have to say as I feel like it’s going to be pretty watered down interactions with little thought behind it.
If they remove themselves from the fediverse equation after amassing a following, I would hope we would be left with what we just have here at the moment, which I’m quite happy with.
That’s why I hope most instances defederate at the get go and totally ignore Meta… A large corporation will bring nothing but destruction when it comes down to it.
I was recently thinking about buying a Switch since I wanted to play a couple Nintendo games, but after this most recent bit of bullshit they’re pulling, in conjunction to all their other bullying, im not buying another Nintendo product again. Why would I support this shit company.
