I would like to add that if you want to do any real customization of your setup don’t get mac either.

Instead of having your windows float around, they perfectly snap and fill the space of the monitor depending on how many windows you have open. A new DE in alpha right now called Cosmic has both floating windows and tiling, you can change with just a toggle.

Cosmic is great so far, I run it on Fedora.

Unrelated to the main post but your comment brings up a point I think is important for society to understand. “pedophiles are afraid to seek help.” Pedophilia is a mental disorder and doesn’t inherently mean someone is a criminal, or ever will become one. But because it is such a violent and life destroying term to be labeled as a pedo those who have this mental disorder and are struggling to not offend will never seek the mental help they desperately need, this in turn leads to children being harmed.

Everyone is responsible for their actions, and pedophiles who rape or hurt kids are also responsible for their actions, but society as a whole contributes to more children being harmed by the way we represent and treat the mental disorder.

Well I think religion is one of the few things you can get enough uneducated/dedicated people to die in the hundreds from heat stroke without people being like"I should probably leave"

All the examples you gave, of course except being trapped on a bus, people would realize there is a serious issue and start leaving once the first handful of people died.

Right, I’m not a creative professional but the occasions I need tools adobe provides there are plenty of open source alternatives I use instead.

Sadly most people won’t care about what adobe is doing, but I can only hope they continue to shoot themselves in the foot. I yearn for the day when they aren’t the dominant player in the space, maybe in 15 years.

Gnome 100%. I personally like gnome for mouse and keyboard use but it’s really a no brainer for touch screen use.

Maybe invest in an external drive you can copy important files to. Dual booting is usually issue free but it’s always possible to have data loss in general. Data loss, especially data that is personally important to you is a tragedy.
