Would that be your classic ‘meant to lose’ fight, usually against the big bad, which is technically winnable but the vast majority of players will lose and progress the story as planned? The example that comes to mind is Ghost of Tsushima, but it crops up in plenty of games.

Problem is, if they could feel shame they wouldn’t be asshole grifters.

If I had to hazard a guess, I reckon they’ll have done more than one story on this.

And here I thought the official line was that he was there to record a podcast, and not to try and somehow buy Greenland for daddy. Or was that also fake news? Or was that fake news then but now real, because the other news that he’s trying to buy Greenland is now fake?

Is this only in custom ROMs, or is there a way to do it through normal settings?

To be a bit of a pedant, it’s pedant.

I’ve seen it suggested that he might call an election sooner than later, to avoid the possibility of this failing (more so than it already has), but there have also been several other times when it’s seemed like there might be an election and nothing happened. Seems like Sunak is just waiting/hoping for something he can tout as a win and try to go into an election on the back of it, presumably in an attempt to minimise the losses. The budget certainly didn’t do it for them, and I can’t see this broadly unpopular ‘win’ being it either, but really what else is there that he can point to at this stage?
