Been using /e/OS on a OnePlus 6T for the last ~2 years and love it. The built-in ad tracker blocker works well. GoS works for the best part and if it doesnt, heading over to the website usually works.

Rocking a T480 hackintosh over here.
Next to KDEconnect, I freaking love Freetube. Just a nice application
Yes, current firmware 1.14 “released” the weather functionality. Displays an icon depending on the weather type and the temp
Breezy will send the temp to GadgetBridge and then over to the pinetime watch.
Been using this for the last couple months. Works great with Gadgetbridge / Pinetime watch
If you dont need to scan any checks, why not just use the website?
Oneplus 6t. Still use it today, in fact typing this comment on it. Been great with custom Roms, has Android 13 on it with newest security updates installed (November 2023). Cost me $75. People look at me weirdd when i say that.
Switching to a new browser was mentally painful?
Project /e/OS (Custom Android Rom) maintains their own version built into the Rom. Funny how I didnt know this and when I downloaded QKSMS just now, I was like “This looks oddly familiar”

No particular reason, honestly. Ran Manjaro for ~4 years and just wanted something new. A lot of trial and error installing and just wanted a fresh start with the additional knowledge that I had gained over the years.
Same similar story but was running Manjaro beforehand. Liking EndeavourOS so for as well!
Did have a Grub issue but after a day of what I call “constructive troubleshooting / learning”, was able to rescue my installation.
Just got to have the drive to learn sometimes
Been using it on my Oneplus 6t and been liking it so far
Agreed. Also from a Tech support POV, there is no “standard” OS and troubleshooting the vast different environments would be a pain. With Windows, you have a standard layout, with couple different versions - Home / Pro / Enterprise. With linux, you have different syntax, differnt DE’s, etc. Still use Linux at home / work but i am interested in it. Got to have that motivation to do so.
Same thing with moving to Lemmy, gotta have that motivation to make the change.
The accounts that they use were rate limited to login attempts and made the store unusable. The workaround is to open the Google Play page for the app in a browser and opening it up in “another app” in which Aurora should take over. It might be fixed but hasn’t been an issue on /e/os.
I agree that /e/os looks boring or looks like iOS but doesn’t every Android OS look the same to some degree? They are redesigning the UI in an upcoming release.
The main I like /eOS is the built in tracker blocker.
Have you heard about /e/OS?
Been using it for a out 3 months now and been enjoying it. Found it after Aurora became slightly unusable. Built in tracker blocker is nice
May I suggest freetube?
Desktop client that emulates having a YouTube subscription / account. Sponserblock can be turned on. Can add channels, have a feed of videos, watched videos disappear when watched, etc.
Just switched to EndeavourOS about a week ago from Manjaro and been liking it so far.
Biggest reason for the change was my manjaro install was getting cluttered, and moving over to a new distro ( taking all my previous knowledgement with it) has been a blessing.
Beforehand, my Manjaro install was EFI, whereas my Windows 11 drive ( yes I know) was UEFI so switching on boot was an issue. Now both are on UEFI and show up within Grub.
Endeavor OS has bluetooth turned off by default. Thought there was an issue but nope.
So from no issues with updating, even with AUR turned on.
I just like starting fresh and setting things up with all my previous knowledge.
100% agree
Just installed via Octopi. Nice design
