Yeah that part’s a confusing mess. I moved to Linux on my gaming PC a year ago and have been pleasantly surprised multiple times but not with installers!

Don’t make me go get Bobby tables. Sanitize your inputs, don’t blame the data!
On mbin you’ll still see them, just in a separate section. And that’s only my perspective too, communities you join might dislike my methods entirely.
Only for streaming and I’m just brainstorming, I don’t actually know how it would work. I’m just thinking about what mbin needs to be truly next generation rather than just a Reddit replacement
Reddit didn’t replace anything directly, it innovated. And whatever comes after will have to innovate as well
From a moderator perspective it seems essential to have a microblogging section, because otherwise people make entire posts for simple questions or personal achievements. That plagues Reddit, drags down the whole site.
I still think it’s missing something though, streaming video service support. Mbin’s idea of combining known socials works great in that respect. Text and image, but needs video support. P2P maybe, no storage needed.
As a reddit moderator having a Twitter like interface seems essential. Too many people on Reddit treat it like Twitter
19.4 on lemmy adds some pretty crucial modding tools though so I’m torn LoL
The worst part about snaps isn’t the fact that their packaged like Windows files, it’s that it makes updating everything on your computer confusing as fuck when you don’t really want to ever think about it.
See, I understand that you’re trying to joke but the linked video explains how the use of the word dumber here doesn’t make any sense. LLMs hold a lot of raw data and will get it wrong at a smaller percent when asked to recite it, but that doesn’t make them smart in the way that we use the word smart. The same way that we don’t call a hard drive smart.
They have a very limited ability to learn new ways of creating, understand context, create art outside of its constraints, understand satire outside of obvious situations, etc.
Ask an AI to write a poem that isn’t in AABB rhyming format, haiku, or limerick, or ask it to draw a house that doesn’t look like an AI drew it.
A human could do both of those in seconds as long as they understand what a poem is and what a house is. Both of which can be taught to any human.
Maybe I’ll go check that out now that I’ve played both games.
The last of us was a boring shooter with unlikable characters who continually did things i wouldn’t do so i couldn’t invest myself in their story. The gameplay didn’t save it.
I would move an entire group of fighting games reddits over here but there’s no automoderator or mod toolbox equivalent. Until lemmy gets that basic functionality it’s moot to try and moderate anything at a high level
I’m using kubuntu right now. Test it out fedora for about 3 hours before I ran into a bug and went back to the KUbuntu hard drive. Normie means it just works, or at the very least googling the answer leads to good solutions. Only ubuntu has that
I feel like he’s doing this just to threaten the troops on the front line with somewhere colder
That’s more than Duolingo costs and Duolingo is constantly adding new languages
I still use Pandora, because I like the recommendations and I’m not too enthusiastic about spending time curating lists.
Plus with a basic ad related DNS you can block Pandora ads.
They were specifically warned by Egypt that something big was about to happen.
I’m on Ubuntu which is supposed to be at the least nerdy. Still hella nerdy, I just want to make memes and play games lol
