  • In an actual free market all the corporations would act like this, because shit like this is what people want out of a business they patronize.

You will recall that there was a bit of a fuss a month or so ago when an undoubtedly-harried GameStop employee stapled some customer receipts directly to Nintendo Switch 2 boxes—and through the boxes, and into the Switch 2 units themselves. It was all quickly resolved, without lawsuits or fistfights, and with the ugliness now behind it GameStop is looking to make some proverbial lemonade by auctioning off the Switch 2 killer for charity.

No lawsuits, no fight required by affected consumers

The company made it right and turned a bad situation into a PR move that helps a charity.

I really thought we’d see some kind of ethical capitalism out of the whole GameStop thing but it never really spread.

  • The timing of the memo is sensitive, coming before key elections in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and possibly France. It also references recent elections in Poland and Romania.

Critics fear the memo signals U.S. support for far-right candidates and could encourage political interference in European elections.

They’re 100% going to meddle in elections, that’s a bipartisan issue:

Speaking to the Jewish Press about the January 25, 2006, election for the second Palestinian Legislative Council (the legislature of the Palestinian National Authority), Clinton weighed in about the result, which was a resounding victory for Hamas (74 seats) over the U.S.-preferred Fatah (45 seats).

“I do not think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories. I think that was a big mistake,” said Sen. Clinton. “And if we were going to push for an election, then we should have made sure that we did something to determine who was going to win.”

Seriously, fucking up other people’s election is one of America’s favorite pass times and largest open secrets.

It would be naive to expect trump to be the only president who didn’t do it

Which doesn’t mean it’s ok trump is doing it.

It means we need to be pissed anytime a president does it, not just when it’s trump

  • The only reason their careers has lasted this long was prior iterations of the DNC protected them from primaries.

The current DNC won’t do that.

If primary voters want to ditch the incumbent, Martin will support the new candidate just as hard as he would have supported the incumbent

He doesn’t really care what candidate makes it to the general, except that they were/are the ones voters chose.

And sadly enough, that makes him the most progressive DNC chair since Carter’s election.

It’s a level playing field, and neoliberals can’t win in that environment unless it’s against a Republican.

They won’t all get replaced at once, but it’ll happen. And more will choose to cash out and become a lobbyist before losing office.

We don’t need the individuals, we need the seat they’re occupying.

  • Biden and the rest of the neoliberals gave Bibi everything he wanted, but it was never going to be enough.

Give someone like that two choices who will do whatever he wants, but one is a sadistic asshole. And they’ll go with the asshole everytime.

There was never any gain for a Dem to defend Bibi, except for the personal gain of campaign donations from a foreign country.

And that’s one of the big reasons Dem turnout was low enough for trump to be president.

Neoliberals picked Israel over America and we need to get every single one of them out of office

  • It’s one of those things where we shortened a phrase and then it stopped making logical sense.

“The three musketeers” werent just musketeers who carried muskets.

They were “the king’s musketeers”. They were elite special forces as well as the personal bodyguard for the King. The best of the best. The “musketeer” part was the common bit, it just sounds fancy centuries later.

But the book might as well be called “The Kingsguard”
