Voila ! you have blocked ads without wasting your VPN slot.
As an added bonus you can also configure nextdns to block your specific phone vendor tracking as well.
If you are interested in trying different web browsers you can check out Fennec from F-droid or Brave browser. These are my go-to browsers on android.
Well, by “good” I meant general purpose, no NSFW, federates with bigger instances, consitent uptime … etc.
Kotatsu is a good one, people often don’t recommend kotatsu. Maybe that’s because tachiyomi offers more features.
I use nextdns in ‘private dns’ options on my android phone to block ads. This give me the option to use VPN, which I wouldn’t get if i use DNS66 or Adaway.
I have not used IRC extensively. But i have used nibl.co.uk (for anime) a couple of times when I couldn’t find torrents.
On my old phone i used Florisboard, it was pretty good and it’s FOSS as well.
These days I use the samsung keyboard as I recently switched to a samsung device. The keyboard customizations are really awesome, if you have KeysCafe module installed. Not sure how privacy friendly it is tho.
Opensuse is great. Yast was more useful than I initially thought.
On a different note - For people who like tinkering, nixos can also be a great option, it also allows rollbacks but doesn’t use BTRFS snapshots out of the box like opensuse.
I wish Graphene also supported other devices apart from Pixels.
Okay. So although all the apps support activitypub - only similar apps can replace each other ( like mastodon with calckey)
Apps with different feature sets will have to remain seperate, but will allow following users from different apps (lemmy and mastodon for instance).
Basically there is no single app that can do everything (as of now)
This is idea that i get after reading through the comments. Please correct me if i’m wrong
Many thanks. May I also ask if there is an alternate frontend client or perhaps an android app for kbin ?
