I’m new to biking ( I have 3 hours under my belt) I inadvertently discovered counter steering going 80km/h on a straight road… I didn’t do anymore than a couple of tries and left it, because I was focussing on effective braking and turning through intersections
Yep, cool points you’ve made. These are things I’m sure I’ll work out that suits me…always appreciate other tips and hints.
Great point about no brake light being on when engine braking. That is something I’ll consider.
Yes, very aware of keeping a distance from the car in front as well as checking mirrors - I do this in my car, typically looking in them more often than the wind screen, do this is quite a good habit for me.
I’ll definitely use brakes in traffic… thanks for taking the time to reply. I’m so excited to ride…but very conscious of the dangers. I’m.in my early 40s so have all the recklessness out of my system and safety Is the priority
Alot of these points I have in my mind as I ride. Conscious of them is one thing and then putting it into practice is another. Yes, I plan to practice techniques each time I ride. Focussing on certain ones each time to get better at them.
Thank you for taking your time to write a reply!
I see what you did there 🤣
Dang… that’s young
Thanks for the clarity. That makes the decisions easier!
Spot.on. my business has adopted an agile mindset across the entire org, but it’s still waterfall, because IT have so much governance in place and outsourcing contracts that prevent teams from actually working on things in a fluid and agile way. Every member of a squad is on multiple projects, plus our systems are so broad we cannot have a resource from each source system dedicated to a squad.
Secondly, no documentation? We moved from an on-prem Oracle DB to GCP so that we would have one central place for data and across all business units… there was no documentation and we had to spend the next 4 years reverse engineering the data marts because all the IP left the business… it took 4 years because of the previous point.
And because it’s big corporate business, you have to make it work otherwise you lose your big bonus etc etc
And don’t dare question the method
