I remember the good ol time when J&J was boycotted for the covid vaccine, how reasonable it would seem in contrast to what’s happening nowadays

I recommend two good videos about superhero movies.
1 - Defenders of the Status Quo
2 - The people vs Clark Kent
Didn’t as much lose it as they called FIFA (an organization worse than EA)'s bluff when FIFA wanted like a billion for the naming rights.

I think you vastly overestimate my care for how much time I want to invest into setting up music playing, that time is 0.
I want to open an app and have music available for listening, and I want to be able to play it on my alexas so I can listen to music in the bathroom and on my toilet.
That’s it.
everyone has cool recommendations, but so many people disregard UX.

Imma go against the grain on this one and say, thank fuck for Spotify, I don’t want to waste my time sorting and downloading music that i can have on demand anywhere anytime and I can discover cool new music every week.
Ofc, you know, everyone should do what they like, personally I like the spotify model, the same way Steam stopped my gaming piracy, it stopped my need to pirate music.
i still go to the high sees for Movies and TV shows because personally I am passionate about that and I don’t want to deal with shit like music being switched in Scrubs because licenses expired, the music in that show is a huge part for a lot of episodes you can’t just switch it out.
Arguably coops are examples if communism at work, and there are plenty of big successful coops out there.
From another perspective there was never any real communist country.

In what world is SEPA pull based, they can’t just remove money from your account.

You probably don’t follow the fitness recipes space online, it’s a cottage cheese epidemic

Yeah and in my country quark is widespread, but still because of online influence local content creators keep pushing cottage cheese into desserts (because that’s what you guys do in the US), and I am like fuck off, we have quark here, just make sweet recipes with quark, it’s what it is for.
Same here, all nice and good when it’s English, but then switch to Hungarian or Slovak and shit breaks fast

You see, here in Europe(at least in my country) we have a system where you can allow certain companies e.g. your mobile provider to just take the monthly amount from your account, without you having to bother with setting up recurring payments or worse, paying it manually, but it’s fully under your control, you set the upper limit and you can cancel it from your side anytime.
The anti-AI circlejerk even here on lemmy is now just about as bad as the pro-AI circlejerk in the general public, no room for nuance or rational thinking, just dunking on everyone who say anything remotely positive about AI, like when I said I like the autocomplete feature of copilot.

I mean, that’s already going a step too far in the logic, the non-dead people continuing to live and work literally makes money for the state.

Tbh, I wanted to go with Framework, as I very much like the upgrade ability and reducing e-waste, unfortunately at the time they didn’t ship to my country only some neighboring EU countries and while I could have made that work as a private purchase, I was purchasing through my company and there I couldn’t make it work, so it was a choice between something like the Dell XPS ( which has notorious touchpad failures) pr the macbook pro, so then it was an easy choice.

Very much so, when I brought up that I am a software developer who just loves using their Macbook, because it just works, I was told I stupid because I am now locked in and what if I want to compile my own flavor of window manager, like with no sense of fucking irony.

No because if the rules apply you always wake up too early, having not slept enough and if you try to take an afternoon nap then you just wake up the next day, you are now stuck forever underslept, groggy, which is totally not my normal everyday anyways
I can only speak for what I see in the central European market, big banks like Unicredit (literally primefaces frontend), Erste group is running Java, basically all government services are Java.
Java is by far the dominant language on the job market in terms of number of open positions and salary.
Yeah, I think this is a more fitting meme to be about Java, because despite all the java is dead articles it’s still like one of the top most used language, if anything is a serious backend service it likely runs on Java.
Jira is the worst project manager software, except for all the others - Churchill
Isn’t this a stupid attitude?
Wasn’t the dot-com bubble anything other than people showing the internet in your face and how it’s a game changer 24/7.
We are simply at the peak of the initial hype curve of the Gartner hype cycle, the bubble will burst soonish and lots of companies go bankrupt, then real use cases will emerge where it’s actually revolutionary.
I don’t know which youtuber but one had a good video about it, at some point in the past, all hype was around drones and delivering stuff to your front yard, turned out that was stupid yet those things found their niche, e.g. some medicine deliveries to remote location in Africa and AED devices that can fly out to people.
