Yeah, I have Netflix and YouTube (God please don’t inundate my inbox with ways to get around the YouTube ads. 1. I’m tech illiterate and 2. At least some of that goes to the creators I want to support)

But why is boron specialer
Tech n9ne is good for hard drugs
Just a friendly reminder there are therapists that work pro bono or for discounted rates. I’m paying $60/ session without insurance and it’s an investment for my mental health, future relationships and career.
I’m taking a psychology of aging course that gets into the extreme cultural ageism against older adults, and man, I really can’t begin to explain how much it’s humbled me. We’re reading a book called “Happiness is a Choice You Make” by John Leland that I want to recommend to everyone now.
I do wonder if there’s a generational difference in how we’ve been exposed and take in information - along with younger adults and kids being more negatively impacted by the isolation of COVID - but otherwise, yeah, I was going to comment something similar. Throw in the AIDS crisis, satanic panic, and any number of other issues
The one thing I want to maybe disagree on is how much “better” things are today. In some ways, absolutely. In others, like stagnated wages, it’s not. I’m not too interested in doing a deep dive on it today but I’ll keep it in mind for a potential summer project
And everyone should be friends with Satan 💜
Or: Found On Roadside Dead
In my boomer dad’s case, it’s been sitting dead on the property forrrrrr a few decades?
Jesus what is going on in Russia
That and healthcare are counted as services iirc, which can contribute to some confusion when you look at 70% ish of the economy being made up of that. But most jobs being created now are like the top commenter said, minimum wage service jobs that don’t meet the needs of employees and aren’t great for customers, either
That’s not how it’s going to play out in reality, unfortunately. I truly wish it were.
I’m waiting for a free upgrade to switch to a flip phone. I didn’t want one immediately because I was worried about quality, but from what I hear they’re doing well. Decent compromise for me
It’s not just about learning the new interfaces…I’ve used the new site design and have heard the official app is just as bad about shoving ads down our throats. Baconreader made ads at least fairly unobtrusive, but with all the drama I’ve decided: fuck it. I appreciate Lemmy and other decentralized options for being user-funded rather than reliant on corporations
Maybe they don’t take hot enough showers? I don’t always sweat, but for sure I’ve noticed more from taking hot baths
