Its basically i2p but older(?) and harder(?) to use. Its more like tor from what I understand.
https://docs.gnunet.org/latest/guis/gtk.html is a good place to start after the installation from what im seeing.
Ill treasure it forever!
Interesting, never knew!
I recall https://www.gnunet.org but its been a LONG time since ive played around with it.
Very interesting idea. Peertube already does this sorta. The p2p nature means the more traffic/servers, the less load the original instance has to push.
How does peertube cache? I know it P2P the video which is nice in case anything goes viral, but I never took the time to figure out any caching.
My tiny single digit user instance seems to keep up with any traffic on a equivalent of a pi…so I assume its good .
Wow sign my comment!
Good post though. Of all of them to get noticed, thats a good one :)
Nice! I have a feeling that most of the fediverse dont use a whole lot of caching. I dont really enjoy some of the things cloudflare does, but it does do a good job with caching.
Is Memcache still a thing? I remember using that for a LOT of older apps back in the day.
Ive been having a good time with PopOS/Linux made for a specific machine. Its my daily driver.
I know its cheating a bit, but having something completely supported is so nice when I just want to sit down and compute. Ive had the same system76 machine for 6 years now and its still VERY fast. No issues with drivers (cause they fully support it) and made of generic parts.
TIC is fun too. I like both. And they both work on the miyoo mini plus as a handheld.

After listening for a bit…I think its AI generated. Im going to remove…I dont want this slop to become popular.
I did mailinabox for a bit. Worked well but spam made me stop.
RSS for me is good for one way communication. Magazines, blog posts, ect…
Fedi is great for two way. If I want to communicate with both.
There’s also some nuances around XML vs fedi in protocol.
Its much cheaper in other countries. EVs are suddenly much more expensive but only in the us.
There are clones and a ton of emulators. Strange decision…but hey if they want to burn their money ok!
One of the reasons being patent with games is worth it. In a year, they may fix the bugs, they may not. But the only thing you lose is a bit of time playing other games. And cheaper too :D
everdrives are fun!
Honestly my “favorite” is my SteamDeck. In that it doesn’t really need to be “modded” just install some software and away you go. At certain points ive made it into:
The PSP was my first back in the day. It was awesome!! 3DS is also a close second. I think I have a ton of homebrew games. Ive seen some impressive wii/wii u stuff lately. And the switch / switch 2 mod scenes are pretty cool. Switch for now is the easiest with all the homebrew stuff people have been putting out. And the switch emulator(s?) that are coming out are pretty impressive. Was able to play a couple of games after getting and compiling the latest releases. Hard to find but totally worth it.
Im having a blast with the miyoo mini plus playing pico 8 games lately.
Thats a fantastic idea. Throw an e-reader at it.
Nice! Yeah the S3 is a good way to work with it. They are dirt cheap at least.
…I should probably upgrade my setup at some point haha.
